LTD guitar, what do you all think of it?

O btw, not many people know this, however i believe that edwards are actually meant to be lower end version of esp but meant for the japanese market.

it's not a lower version, the standard of construction for the Edwards are matching that of ESP.

the Edwards wing focuses on copies- these models are copies of the popular makes given a Jap QC treatment, they also copy themselves, meaning: there are Edwards models which are actually copies of the ESP units.

the Grassroots are in turn a budget derivative of the Edwards, like what the LTD does for the ESP range. the Navigator series are one-up against the Edwards- imagine the Edwards having a custom division; this would be the Navigator.

IMHO, bottom line is LTD ARE KOREAN MADE AND ESP ARE JAPAN MADE. I use to have F-200 cum with evolution pick-up bought 2nd hand abt 600plus.. sound great as the pick up already change...paint job is great.. once in jammin' the guitar was dented by a keyboard. surprising that it only a dent but the paint did not chip off.... anyways I already sold it away few years back to make way for my Japanese Prestige Ibanez RG1550 limited edition.. but still wondering who have the guitar now.. my first electric guitar...

It's a Horizon NT-II. Odd. I thought I'd like it. But I have to say (which I'd never thought I'd say this, but...), most Ibanez guitars felt better than that particular piece...:???:

heh if ur referring to playability, i think can understand what u mean.. my PGM3 had the slimmest unfinished neck and it was real easy to do all these crazy runs effortlessly.. my Edwards CY165 on the other hand has kind of a satin finish, and the neck profile's kind of a thinner C shape.. it's still thinner than a chunky strat or LP neck, but it's a bit harder to go crazy all over the fretboard..

Korean, Indonesian or whatever, the company has to establish someone to monitor quality control of each individual guitar. Even a Korean or Japanese factory that employs crap inspectors will produce crappy guitars.

So IMO, country of origin doesn't matter.

You forgot the difference: The expensive countries actually inject mojo into the guitars they made... That justifies the difference in cost...:mrgreen:;)

Of course higher-end instruments also have more stringent inspection... Also justifies the higher price, other than:

- Superior hardware
- Marketing and prestige level
- Origin (yes, this does affect pricing)

These are copies???

i guess it's made in Korean.
did a check.. lower model < 400 is made in Indo.
while higher model is made in korean.

Edwards are on a higher rung than LTDs. They're more affordable but actually have high-end components. Hence, they usually cost over $1K. Only the higher-end LTDs (250 series and above) exceed $1K in pricing. Edwards are also made in Japan (I think!), which has its prestige level.
