I'm not sure what alot of them do. I have a solidstate amp, so will a tube overdrive pedal give me a tube sound?

Anyway, what do you guys reccomend which type of pedal I should get next?

Cheers

A tube overdrive pedal will emulate a tube amp but will not give you a tube sound.

In general, if you have no idea what pedal to get, don't get one. It's like throwing your money down the drain.

If you have to spend money, see how you can upgrade your guitar, amp or cables.

if you dont know what each of them do, reading the descriptions doesnt help you much

i suggest you go to http://www.bosscorp.co.jp to listen to sound samples first, and then decide what type of pedal you wanna get. then go and get your Behringer version of that effect.

and honestly you shouldnt limit yourself to Behringer - youget what you pay for. save up longer for something better and you'll realise what you're missing

Aye Nitrovo.

Hold your horses.

You've got a job now, its time to be a little more serious in your gear shopping IMO.

Behringer pedals are bang for buck, but its very little buck and that doesn't translate to a lot of bang, if you know what I mean.

Lets hold back for a moment.

yeah nitrovo.. save up.. then gas at year end swee lee sale... but honestly, i agree with shredcow on this.. behringer pedals are ok when u get it to start off, but as u develop more in terms of ur taste in music and tonal variety, u will find them rather lacking... its bang for buck, but u pay peanuts, u get monkeys.. save more.. then GAS 8)

hehe ok my gears

craftsman LP - my friend might give me some new pickups next week, jacksons or something but standard atm

cables i dont know, its basic stuff, black cable with blue ends, nothing special just your low cost cable.

ibanez toneblaster 25R

Also with the sweelee sales, i dont know if i'll be in singapore at xmas, atm probably not but yer lol

I only knowe a few songs, im stilla noob, i dont gig or anything so i dont need thegood gear yet, maybe just a couple of cheap pedals.. you know its klike you start off with a cheap practise amp and then move onto marhals and that.

shredcow, your awesome though. you should get recognition of your help and assistance to softies.

Nitrovo, try to find out what models those Jackson pups are. They (Jackson) had some KILLER hi gain stock pups last time. JC-80 or something and other models along that line.

Hmmm.... i think that despite you being a "noob" and not gigging, it still pays to get something better. Not talking about getting a Skreddy or some Tech21 stuff now, but something like a Boss SD1.

Based on what you have right now, I'd say, since (judging from your previous post) you have maybe $60, save it. Put the money in an envelope label "dreams" in a drawer under a big book. Everytime you skip dessert, skip a snack, skip a movie, basically save some cash, just throw the money there. It can be just $3 a day, or even better, a solid $10 a day. Just throw the the money there and don't look/count whats inside. At the end of May (a mere 2 months away), take it out and count. Let a smile form on your lips, then go out and grab something that can last you a little longer than your "noob" period.

Again, it doesn't need to be much but it's going to be something of more substance and yes, tone.

Check for any problems with your guitar. Faulty pots, poor electronics, replace them.

Get good cables. Luther & MrMisse offer canare cables with Neutrik heads for a very affordable price. (Call them to ask for pricing.)

If you want to spend money in your progress as a guitarist, look for a guitar teacher, or buy some guitar books to read on. Knowledge is something that you can carry even if and when you leave a country, gear isn't that easy.

If you wanna get into the world of effects and try out stuff, this:

looks like it will be an excellent starting point.

Only $108.00 at luther and it has all the basic effects you would want to try out, using the same technology as the AX3000G.

All this for the price of TWO behringer pedals. I wish I had something like that when I was starting out heh.

yeah you should spend maybe like 108 bucks on that korg mulitiefx, its a good way to start and learn i guess.Korg is personally not bad.

i have a can labeled "Pedal Fund" just chuck your money in there and slowly save. Korg's a good starting point, nice sounding effects with a price tag that won't break your bank. Started with a AX1000G, really nice pedal. Getting a multi efx a good way to get to know effects like modulation and stuff before jumping head first and buying tons of stomp boxes.

thing is with my job, tehy pay directly into my banka ccount, but at the end of every month or howeverlong it is i'll go and withdraw my earnings and put some in it.

About the cables at Luther, are you talking about those that they soldered themselves?

If not, what do you think of those DIY cables from Luther?

Yeah Nitrovo, you should maybe get a better amp or axe first, before thinking bout pedals. OD pedals for example just don't sound as good as onboard OD found in amps.

Well I live in an apartment, dont NEED a big amp just yet.

About pedals, I would have thought that individual stompboxes, say my ultra-metal would perform better than a multifx dist pedal becuase my pedal is focused just on makiing distortion. multi fx's focus on everything, its like if you learn drums and drums only and you practise say 2 hrs a day, you will ebcome a good drummer. but if you play drums aswell as guitar and piano and still only have 2 hours, your focus on one thing wont be as good, therefore making you less of a drummer.

does that make sense?

Hey nitrovo, what you said, might have been true maybe 5 yrs back. Nowadays, that statement you made is more valid for say comparing a KLON Centuar's OD to a multiefx. Multiefx have improve. Your behringer is well, a budget pedal, a multiefx would sound better. I hope I am making sense.... @ work. Heh.

You can consider the multifx the rest have recommended, if you wish ti explore and get familiar before comitting... its a good move too.

You have a reasonably big amp, 10' speakers aye?

Detriot, later you come by my place, you listen to my pedals. 8)
