Looking for a good pickup

you don need high output pickups to play hard rock or metal. Sometimes a mid output or low output played on a high gain amp. your sweetspot will come out.

im aware of that bro..wad i meant was...i've never tried a mid or low output pup b4..dats y i always go for the high output ones

two things plse enlight.

1 what's a PAF winding..?

2. is BL pickup 500xl high output. my stlye is more like tom morello toggle tech, string scratching, tapping with ( toggle on/off)...which is not usually pick string. so... will BL deliver those?

Multiple high gain pedals with low gain settings cascaded and high output pickups is my personal choice, because it allows clarity without sacrificing tone.

I second ShredCow on Has Sound pickups. Seriously they beat any other pickups hands down.
A viper or hellion would be a good choice for high gain stuff.
Only problem is you have to get them online. Dun think any shop bring these in.

hehe

so so..

any reviews?

any recommendations?

Refer to Dimarzio's website. Look at the pickups - moderate and low/vintage output. You should be looking at the output rating of 350mA or less.

See any 2nd hand Dimarzio around with an EQ chart you like and its lower output - buy and try.

There's your 1st taste.

You see - when you've only had high output pickups, your experience is limited. open it up a bit, do it cheap and easy - go 2nd hand. Then once you experienced it, work out the little bits... more bass... more treble... or maybe... NO, low output is just not your thing.
