Wah, you are such a shitstirrer...

I, for one, is excited to catch Alicia Pan live! Woot.

his not a shit stirrer man. thats the reality of the situation, I think it should be addressed to why, so maybe people who are involved, even the audience can help improve it.

anyhow I read from the other thread for the 3rd episode, that the show's ratings aren't doing too well right? plus with all the moshing going on I'm sure some parents will call to complain. it was removed from a primetime slot on tv la, can't be for a good reason. but this is only the first season, hopefully not the last, there will always be a need to fine tune it.

really hope there can be a season 2 so they will be given a chance to improve.

oh ya the band with the drum track going on was the one with ivy vendetta's lead singer right?

Hey localmarket,

Don't worry about the "shitstirrer" comment - AgingYouth and I are fwends and heckling is just part of how we show our friendlurve even though he's quite a shitslinger himself. ;)

Allura was good. this episode was great. however, for the web telecast. i cant seem to watch allura after the credits! rarrr.

I was there for the live taping of this show. They had 53A, the band who plays at Timbre, do a warm up set with covers (!!!!!) of OffSpring and Metallica, oh dear!!! The crowd was non-responsive of course.

Then they had The Amps who did an english song, can't remember the title, it was alright, but their interview didn't make sense at all.

53A's original song wasn't too bad, but for a regular performing band, i thought the singer had mild stage anxiety and did not work the crowd well.

Then comes the downhill of the night. Face Off. After they were introduced, they started playing and the guitars were hardly audible! As i was standing near the sound control, i heard this sound guy saying over a walkie talkie in malay "Effects pedal battery flat!". Adoi! Face Off had to redo this song at the end of the show, and i personally felt they tried too hard to focus on stage antics rather than playing and singing well.

Glitched Roots Project was better than Fatskunks showcase on first episode. It's great to see some reggae acts.

The sonic youth feature is this group from TP, they did a cover, i forgot who is it by. Alright la, they had tons of school supporters there with the flag and all.

Mark Bonafide and Alicia Pan failed to work the crowd, who were probably really looking to mosh and bodysurf. both songs just totally brought the live n loaded energy down to zero. Pity. They probably performed infront of the wrong crowd.

Allura i'll say is the saving grace of the night. The band put up a good set of 3 songs. Gamajazillion, Ladeda and a new song. But the thing that put me off was that the audience starting exiting while they were still playing! WTF?!

Yeah I don't really get the crowds here. I have no clue why they attend Live n Loaded, other than to appear on tv.

i really think that AMPS, 53A, Bonafide and Allura showed great confidence in their performances, something that you develop from having played numerous shows in front of different audiences. experience.

Glitched Roots Project was a breathe of fresh air.. Finally a viewer's pick that made sense

face off had potential, but need to get their act right.

on a lighter note,

1. some of the audience will mosh to anything hoping for the camera to capture them (has its pro's and con's)
2. crowd reason for walking out was maybe they didnt get a chance to bodysurf, hence no chance to get their own AIRTIME on national tv

hahaha

awesome episode 4! first time watching it online. wonder how much difference it will be on the actual airtime now that they have time to render and hopefully tighten and make the sound better...

EDEN STATE was the drummerless band. They're still looking so if you play drums and like their stuff call them!

Ratings et al is due to only one thing: PEOPLE WATCHING THE SHOW! And it's almost guaranteed that if nobody watches the show, there's NOT GOING TO BE A SEASON TWO! So if you guys really want a show that highlights local bands, WATCH THE SHOW! Get your friends, your friends' friends, your friends' friends' friends!

But I agree about the bands performing. They'd better make sure they're on the ball, because if you get a casual fan who tunes in and they get a bad experience, chances are they're not going to support local, plus they'll tell their friends not to support local. And then where would we be...? Sigh!

Anyway, shows on THURSDAY now. If you really like local music, watch it. It's good for your health!

abt the mosh thinghy... hahaa... all i can say is tat yes... i think they are just there to be on tv.

in the show they 'shouted' support local etc... but then the left early after the frd's band played...
i had a gd time shouting "eh? i tot u say u support local" to the kids who left early...
flame me all u want if u r there n u heard me :)
overall to me its not reli ok. the sound balance and all are not reli gd but the kudos to bands for putting up a great show.

brandon gan's drumming is freaking scary mary
53A,as usual did well. allura, of course nice songs!!!

Then they had The Amps who did an english song, can't remember the title, it was alright, but their interview didn't make sense at all.

Flow is the title if I'm not wrong.

Allura i'll say is the saving grace of the night. The band put up a good set of 3 songs. Gamajazillion, Ladeda and a new song. But the thing that put me off was that the audience starting exiting while they were still playing! WTF?!

The new tune is called 'Loose Change'.

I guess they started leaving cuz there is no more chance for them to appear on national TV. Poor things.

We were informed that the show might be re-edited for Thursday's broadcast. If not, once we get footage of the live recording, we will put it up online (with the permission of the producers, of course). And you can see guitarist Aaron's string snap during Ladeda and perhaps, some blood splattering over the place.

Quite brutal lah, he. Brutal like death metal.
