Little survey on CD buying

Well what happens if if u accidently delete them or the hard disk gets corrupted? This is another reason why i buy cds also. Can't risk losing my songs like that

I've never seen a worth buying cd on cash converters ... maybe i didn't browse enuff ..
buying CDs from cash converters or gramphone is to hunt for obsolete Jap/HK CDs. lately I bought Fuji Fumiya best hits CD from cash converters for a mere $5.00.
I'm a Checkers jpop fan in my teens, so I followed the lead singer solo career. This CD not found anywhere else in Singapore CD retail store.

Besides, I also buy CDs from eBay, Cd universal, etc.

Talking about downloading albums from the web, for me it's kind of a
hazzle and I respect what is Intellectual Property and Copyright.

Nowadays I dun buy as much as I used to be as I've grown out of the music addict but I still do love music very much.

I buy China pressed mandarin CDs to follow the local and TW/HK scene.

I must say the standard of western pop has declined properly due to internet downloading and piracy. Japan pop is still strong. Hopefully our local scene will blossom.

i have 49gb of music, i'd jump out my window if my hdd crashed and i couldnt get my music back.

I also find that you appreciate an album more if you buy it, i download music, listen to the album a couple of times and just add it to my library. if i buy a cd i'll listen to it over and over again.

Bongman, I also looking for some obsoleted Jap/Taiwan CDs (eg. Currently looking for YOSHIKI's Eternal Melody I, 暗恋桃花源OST,蓝宇OST,...), where more possible for me to find it? BTW, where is Cash Converter & CD Universal?

Haha! I've 10g on the ipod, that means's about 7-8 days. Ah I wonder if I will ever listen to it all.

Cash converters is a retail chain in Singapore selling used goods,
2nd hand goods store. CD univseral is a online site.

I bought Yoshiki Eternal Melody I from eBay, you can try hunting for it.
Eternal Melody II is out in all good CD shops.

I bought Eternal Melody II long ago liao...
Now looking for Eternal Melody I.
But I don't want Taiwan Bootleg, only want ORIGINAL Japan Released version.
(If I want Taiwan Bootleg, can easily get it from M'sia with < RM45).
Some of the ebay/yahoo never specify Japan version or Taiwan version.
sigh...

Cool, great to know that lots of people still buy CDs, I like owning and seeing my CDs stack up too :p

I get most of my CDs from HMV and Gramaphone, gramaphone has a good DVD selection which is pretty reasonable too. Are there any other places to get DVDs and harder-to-find albums?

Cash converters is good if you have the time to slowly look through all the nonsense to find the good stuff.

i think my version is a Japan pressed since I bought it from a Japanese. I didn't buy vol2, becos i bought vol1 of Georg Martin

still buy CDs of the musicians I love of course. Will usually checkout mp3s of bands and music I am new to, and if I like what I hear, I will buy their CDs.

Usually the CDs of indie bands I get them from Borders or overseas, and sometimes from HMV (only when the price is <$24). More mainstream ones I would get them from Gramaphone if they have it. There is this cd shop at Shaw House called ST Music where u can get your cds real cheap. Most single discs are $12.90 and double disc $15.90, etc... Sometimes you will be surprised to find good stuff from miles davis, bob dylan, johnny cash,etc... (heard Gramaphone sometimes get their stuff there too)

For Japanese albums (Taiwanese print) or Chinese albums, I usually get them from MJ or Sembawang.
