vesak day acquisitions:

*Possessed: 7 Churches (Featuring Primus' guitarist Larry Lalonde, one of Satriani's lesser know students...)

*Dissection: Reinkaos

*Satyricon: Now, Diabolical (if you are interested in the initial import version, do let me know ASAP...)
SATYRICON-cover.jpg

the album in its entirety sounds very Slayer-esque. both the guitarists in Possessed (Lalonde & Mike Tarrao) are very capable players however, we can hear better guitar excution from Lalonde namely his fluid runs & more precise pickings. there are definitely more guitar noodlings by Lalonde in any Possessed release than a Primus one.

Possessed Lalonde (the one showing the least number of teeth...)

Yo subversion. Did you get the Century Media or the Combat Remasters of this CD? Cos I heard that Century Media's is the better deal, with more pics on the sleeve and stuff.

definitely the CM version. the sleeve contains a brief history of the band/ pics/ linear notes.

Good for you then
My first introduction to this album was when I bought a poorly DUBBED cassette of Hallow's Eve's Death & Insanity album at Queensway back in the day. Turned out, Possessed's Seven Churches was on side B of the cassette, complete with Rockshot sleeve and all, haha. Cool, two albums in one! Great deal! Those were the days...

oh man where can i purchase level 42's CDs? i'll probably look for a greatest hits or a compilation.

i own the above Level 42 greatest hits of sorts, comes with DVD (video of every song on the CD) so worth the $28 i paid for it... available @ Gramophone.

^ Far East Square
