anyone got any sites that teach or any tips? i would really want to learn how to install a humbuckle, just that dunno how. and would like to learn some before i really no choice go and pay money for ppl to fix...

tany : Unscrew the pickguard, open it up, take a look at the wiring inside. Study it, the way the neck pickup is soldered, is the way you will have to solder your HFH to.

DeathCubeK : Sure it kicks ass. But rather one sided ain't it? You can kick ass but you can't spell romance.

u might wanna keep in mind, that different brands have different colour coding. so u might want to ask around a little b4 installing, unless u're 100% sure u know which colour represents what.

blackmoo: thx but i dont think i'll risk it yet...

deathcubek: yes the x2n is great but dont really like the tone not suitable for me :D

werewolf: nah the JEM JR is not meant to sound like the other JEMs because it's cheap, so i'll make it sound like others...maybe a PGM since those are basswood too

Hmm

tany : r u using that HFH with ur current stock pickup?

Riding on this thread, I wanna query as to which other humbucker(s) shud used to pair up with X2N pickup to produce heavy rock sound?

yup but i dont dare atm...lol know anybody that can teach? or is it best to go to some shop get someone to do then watch?

I'm no authority where wiring is concerned but thus far i've succeeded in attempts to wire pickups on my own. These sites might help. It's also a good idea to have a digicam around, so you can take pictures and refer to them in case you ever get lost. The cheaper alternative would be to draw it out.

Tany, give it a try man! Get a soldering iron, gather a load of patience, and try it out ;) If you screw up you can always take it to a techie to fix the problem heh :D

Dimarzio Evo neck. It's a nice match to the X2N in the bridge.
