Lazer Drums is big-time now

Cool...

Though with the plethora of ready-made Keller shells and all sorts of hardware options available, almost anyone can get into the drum-making business now. Like Pork Pie, Spaun, Truth, OCDP, Conaway.

Electroplating is what they usually use to colour/coat metal shells, as opposed to spray painting. It's like painting, but using electricity in the process.

Like my tama brass snare is nickel-plated to prevent tarnish, make it more durable etc.

Unfortunately, Conaway drums have closed down recently! :( Pity, they had rather affordable prices.

all so called "custom shop" are the same.

Not entirely true, la. The difference is in the quality of the more hard-to-do finishes, esp. multicolored wraps, smoothness of fades/bursts.

You could also argue that the people who order custom drums are all the same, that's why all the drums they produce are all so similar.
