I only use lastfm to find a similar band........... coz u know, they will list out bands tat sounds similar or play e similar stuff....so yea. but if for listening.......i dun think i use it yet:D

if you use it to track your plays, you would find that they would generate a recommendations radio playlist based on what you listen to which is nice when you want to check new bands out

Oh, one thing, do not EVER reset your charts. Did it once on impulse and I've been regretting the decision ever since. Ugh.

Not sure about Singapore events, but it has heaps of local events for your area as well. That's usually how I find out about gigs and stuff. And yea, I'm a pretty frequent gigger so it's all good for me. Haha.

Yeah I guess that's another cool thing about it, it captures your listening history and you can do all kinds of cool stuff with that data. For e.g.

LastGraph charts your listening history over a period of time, so you can actually see during which month what you were listening to. It's a great way to see how your tastes change over the years.

Last.fm normalizer lets you view your most listened artist or album in terms of minutes (rather than plays) for last 3/6/12 months or all time. Here is a sample of mine:

Because I had this one month of solid My Chemical Romance album craze, and it just shot right up to the top. -.- Been trying to beat it down with the other artists (yea I know you're not supposed to be doing that but pff!), but it's just too high. :( And I was just too tired of people going "MCR? Are you serious?" Ah well. Impulse... impulse... I don't hate MCR or anything, I just don't listen to them anymore. Got better stuff to listen to. Haha.

MCR?? Are you serious???

K K just messing with ya, but seriously who cares! I had a couple weeks of Rihanna dominating my charts as well and got flak for it from a couple of friends, but come on how can you resist SOS, Umbrella and Please Don't Stop the Music, they are killer songs! And thank god last.fm came after nu-metal craze, otherwise my top artists would include Papa Roach, Slipknot and Korn.

Ok, you've just got down heaps on my "cool" list. Lol! Nah, kidding. Haha. I'm just not a fan of... erm... that kind of pop. Bloc Party pop/rock's fine, but Rihanna R&B/pop, no thanks. Haha. I remember when I was back in Singapore last year, and I was shopping around the CBD with my mate. There were like 4 consecutive stores we went into that were playing Umbrella. Man.... just yea, too much for me. :)

Slipknot! Haha. My best mate just went to see them in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago. :D I personally haven't heard much of their stuff, and I really don't know what the point is in telling you this... lol.

i guess its pretty normal, i started using last.fm when it was the metalcore craze, and had killswitch engage really high up on my charts that i tried to beat successfully with opeth, but it resulted in an ugly graph with 2 damn high artists then the 3rd artist being a lot less played than the top. then just decided heck it, reset the stats.
