KORG TR

why they like to come up with black special ahh!?

yea seems like a improved version of the black triton le 61 .

check out the triton le 61 black limited pic.:

other than the TR label at the right i cant see any difference leh

guess the major complaints of the triton le is the piano patch and the outdated smart media drive. the TR have a "improved" piano patch and uses SD cards now. max is 1 gig memory. correct me if i'm wrong but there dont seem to be any difference software/patches wise...even the patchs the guy use in the video demo are already existing in the current triton le..
smmpling option is also optional for the TR, like the le.
see the video:

kinds reminds me of the way roland came up with a black juno D which is almost exactly the same as roland rs 50, but with improved key action and color also change from silver to black.

seems that korg and roland like to come up with "black speciaL ",improved version of their more popular mid range synths . reminds me of tamiya cars when in sec skool days...:)

make me a bit "tui" ...cos i just got my black le61 few months ago..now they come up with TR..wa lan....realli ah...sianzzzz..to think i spent so much tiime tweaking the piano patch and hunting for smart media cards!!

wonder if city music will import them in dec.....

TR coming today

city music is realli keepin their dates punctual. 2 weeks ago i called about the tr, they said 5th dec, and true enuff ,i just called city music, seems that the Korg TR have arrived.they will transport it over from their warehouse today.

will check it out and post reviews here. lets see wats the difference between a black triton le and a TR. cant wait to check out the improved piano.

tried the KORG TR last Saturday $1565
not bad, ppl were quening up to buy.

it is indeed an improved of Triton Le

the Korg Oasys 76 selling at $9960.
it was OUT OF BOUND ???

of course I touched the keys and synth
but no power available, so useless.

probably Citymusic will be hosting a Oasys demostration?

So hows the improved piano sound? Any other improvement? are the keys still as plastic as LE's?
:?:
looks like it's better,
I've tried the Triton Le in a jam studio
and the TR keyboard feel is better

tr

tried it today.

i went through an overview of my triton le just b4 head down to city music, hoping to catch some difference in patches if any.

1. piano; so far there is a stero l/r piano patch in bank A . the 'acoustic piano' patch was brought over from the original triton le as well, to me, bouth sound better, becos the 'hamer hitting the string" iritating"Korg korg"(no oun intended to korg) sound is gone. trn up the eg release a bit an its realli nice.

2.sd ram
i transfered some sng files from my LE smart medi card to a SD card and brough it over. there was a realli nice guy there who allowed me to test it.
when i played my songs, most of the patches remain the same ,only a few were changed. etc, my bamboosilver flute changed to clarinet.
effects, sequences, song order etc were all in place nicely.

3.PATCHES:most of them remain, there is a new string combi, but the dynamic strings combi remain, the arrpegio remains the same. there is one or two new lead sounds too. one called ghostly popper or something.
i guess there are only one or two new patches for each category. whether its an additional patch or a replacement i'm not sure.

4.keyboard feel. i'm quite sure its exactly the same as the LE. if u think LE keys are sucky..O>M>G u shld try the yamaha S03 and roland RS50 and 70....
Korg simply refuses to bring the classic Trinity's keybed over to its new mid range synths. sign. but still the LE keys are not that bad realli.in fact i think they are great for strings and orchestra fast chops.

like what they always say at yamaha and city music," u want good piano sound and feel, why are u looking at a workstation?? the digital pianos are over there sir"

unless u can find a realli competitively priced 2nd hand LE, if not just get the TR. "improved" is a bit of an overstatement here. its a "rectified" LE, getting rid of a seriously outdated smart media drive and bad piano.

At that price range, cannot expect too much about touch. What was the price of the LE? I presume it is in the similar range.

i bought my LE for 1.5k but i suppose with the TR being introduced it should have dropped slightly since its the 'older' model...

hiee bongman, actually i wasn't directing that statment at u, in fact i didnt rem u saying that still i reread the thread.. :P

i was just thinking bout the general comments made by most online music stores. most said its an imrpoved LE.

i think the LE was ard 1.9 k when it came to city music yrs ago. it was offered at 1.6 ard 6 mths back at city music.

now there will not be any more price drop becos the TR will be kinda replacing the LE stocks. i assume this is gonna be a world wide trend.

its kinda like they replaced the roland RS 50 with exact same design but black Juno D,with improved feel.the key feel is improved, and like the LE-->TR, RS50-->juno D only have a few patch changes.
