Hi bro,
Any comments for this two keyboards? Juno-G is out for display at Swee Lee. Really needs comment from guru's here.Thank you.

Specswise Juno-G is technologically superior to the TR.
128 note polyphony, out of the box sampling & audio recording, able to accept expansion cards - all of which the TR cannot (it needs the sampling option to sample).

A small drawback is that the Juno-G stores it data on a PC card (that means you have to buy a Compact Flash card and a CF to PC card adapter) whereas the Korg stores its data directly onto a SD card.

Soundwise, which is the bigger issue, is user dependent.

Bottomline - you can't go wrong with either of these.
Just test drive both and see whose operating system and sound suits you better.

just for everyone's info, sweelee only brought in one juno G , and its on display at aljunied NOT bras basah.

they cant give details if it will be avail in time for the sweelee sale.

i tink, the weight difference of 1.3 kg plus does (juno g is lighter than the TR/ triton le )
makes a diff for the gigg musician.

i have been slogging the triton le ( looks and weight exactly same as TR) ard for half a year and its reali no fun. more polyphony, more ram and audio track recording plus being lighter certainly is quite a draw for me....drool....

If you do come across it, give us a review. With that kind of weight, I wonder what kind of plastic materials it is made of. Hope it is not as flimsy as the M-audio's keystation series.

probably technology has made way for lighter and cheaper gear,
or maybe it's the hardware company answers to all the softsynths
in the market.

Korg TR or Juno-G?

Hi,

I am seriously considering buying either a Roland Juno-G or Korg TR. Which is better in terms of orchestral sounds? I need help choosing. Say for a rock/metal band, which keyboard would be more useful? I also compose a lot (but I have another keyboard to do that anyway), and I would like to add a lot of my own stuff into the keyboard for performances (e.g. Audio tracks, MIDI tracks) composed using my Sonar. I attempted to use a MIDI controller for gigs linking with my laptop, but found it extremely inconvenient and very unstable. So now I'm trying to buy a replacement. Good orchestral sounds is very important. I understand that the Juno-G has an SRX expansion Complete Orchestra, but I also see that the Korg already has quite good orchestral sounds on its own. So which is a better buy, looking at my situation?

Korg TR has no blank space for user settings. If you want to save your own patches, you gota overwrite the patches inside.

That's what I gathered from the Korg forums and also saw on TR76. So, you might wanna be aware of this little detail before you buy.

Oh, if you mentioned about playing in a rock/metal band. If you're using the synth (applies to all synths except the Roland Fantom G) as it is on live gigs, you might need to consider the inherent cut off time in changing patches. About 2 secs.

Hey guys,

whats the current market price of TR88-key extreme workstation now? Heard tt its discontinued already? Is that true? Anyway I am thinking to venturing into composition (Most prob into jazz, r&b, blues, dance & anime/game music.) in future. Recently just got into K-pop music craze...lol. Thought that the composition of K-pop music appeals pretty much to me (prob. due to my love in fusion of music stuff). Anyway can give advice if TR88-key extreme workstation is a gd one for such composition of genres which I hv mentioned?
