KICK ASS SINGLE COILS.

yup ...
honestly, the hs2 izznt as great as i tot it would be. It has a fuller thicker sound and is nice with distortion & overdrive, but clean ... ok lor ... not dat great ~ even my crappy craftsman stock pickup (mid) sounds abit "sweeter" and more "stratish" den it.

u might want to try splitting HS2 to get the single coil sound then... i heard it sounds much better than the hum is not much/irritating.

hmm weird i felt randolf with his yamaha and hs2 sounded fabulous. heh. to each his own i guess...

id say i paid alittle too much for these... would highly advise for the standard package... gold pole pieces and pre wire assembly pushed costs way high...

at least you got edible packaging. :p

i find in the first place single-coil stack/twin blade rails shouldn't be compared to real single-coils in the first place, in which the only similar factor they share is only size, physically.

however low the output is, the former still sounds fuller than a true single-coil. most of them fall between single-coil and humbucker.

any one herer tried the Virtual Vintage series b4 ... I got a set gonna install real soon...

yes, i used to have the '54 (n & m) and Heavy Blues (b) or issit Solo? but i used it fot abt 2wks then i switched the pickups back to the original stock fender! i feel its too "un-strat sounding". too clean and "even"... hmmmm... bad description there... but the good thing they are quiet. i guess when u lose the noise, u lose the tone too! heheheehhhe... or maybe its just my ear.

what do u hav BTW?

u r rite abt the unfender sound but I love the quietness of them esp in high vol / hi gain situations...

yeah, that's definitely true. especially when u gig often. but funny thing i dun have the very loud hum/buzzing problm with the strat i used to have tho. maybe i'm just lucky... so, what virtual vintage are u putting in?

407, 408, 408 - very vintagy... but my absolute fav was my fender texas specials on srv sold liao...
:(

texas special! that's good... i hav that on the bridge of the mentioned strat! its higher output and kicked in overdrive easier... but i kind of "hate" the "high-midragey" tone it got. and the in-between sound is "too fat!" hehehehehhhe... just my opinion. u really love it, yeah... hehehehehe...

ur virtual is the 2.1 series rite? suppose to sound "glassy" if i'm not wrong.

was perfect for the blues rock band SHYYNE i play in ... ergret sold my srv

ok gtg - out for appt now

cya wen I cya

407 & 408 should be virtual 2 if im not wrong. i tried b4... not stratty imo... more of a cross between single-coil and humbucker

Tyler has some modified VVs on their Superstrats ... I had my suspicions about how goof it would sound but to my surprise, they were really balanced sounding and gelled well with a Humbucker in the bridge.

currently reading up on kinmans... remember them turning my friends squire into an awesome sounding strat.

I wanted the best of both world's and got the Graduated set (Trad neck, Blues Mid & Bridge).

Very nice ... sounds different from Fender 57s on another Strat ... (not better but different). A keeper definitely.

woo ..tried the kinmans at loud volume today... thru the smarvo at soundmix studio. used my modded ds-1

im impressed man... very quiet ...almost too quiet....
leads stood out and were smooth .with that strat twang i love.

guys if you looking for THE single coil tone you always wanted... withouth the noise... i totally suggest kinmans.

my axe wont do metal anymore though.
