This particular one is from the song "Far more drums" from the Dave Brubeck Quartet album "Time further out". "Far more drums" is just following "Far more Blues" both written in 5/4 just like the well known "Take 5".

Here's him on Take the A Train

the dave brubeck quartet - take five... never cease to impress me everytime it plays weather it is by modern day sessionist or the original piece back in the 1960's..

Well, according to wikipedia...
Brubeck experimented with time signatures through much of his career, recording "Pick Up Sticks" in 6/4, "Unsquare Dance" in 7/8, and "Blue Rondo à la Turk" in 9/8.

am confused, time furthur out is different with time out amirite??
Yeah, different. The albums in the 'Time' theme are:
Time Out (1959) Columbia Records/Legacy
Time Further Out (1961) Columbia Records/Legacy
Countdown Time in Outer Space (1962) Columbia Records
Time Changes (1965)
Time In (1966) Columbia Records

There's actually a box set compilation with all 5 CDs, For All Time.

I love Take Five! Never gets tired of this song :D

Joe Morello was very musical during his solo on this piece.

Time Further Out is the next album after Time Out by the quartet. Haven't lay my hands on it yet though.....
