Jimmy Lee and Tama Goh drum clinic

Good to know you guys enjoyed the link. Shred, both drummers are endorsed by Pearl drums. For cymbals, Jimmy endorses Sabian while Tama endorses Zildjian. The clinic is featuring both drummers on account of their Pearl endorsement. :)

Man, the clinic was a blast.

Was really impressed with Tama's mind boggling independence and time (soloing over ostinato foot patterns and the stunning solo in Take Five) and of course Jimmy's usual powerful and attractive soloing. Great stuff.

What struck me though is that both are very different drummers with different mentalities when they play. While I think Jimmy is definitely the more flashy destruction derby kind of drummer with all his stunning fills and rudiments, Tama is the subtle, sleek and clever player and his style is much milder compared to Jimmy's. I think this was quite apparent when they did drum battle.

I took a video when they did drum battle using my camera handphone. Quality's not fantastic but it should give you an idea of how it went... :D The link's right below...

great, amazing, wonderful clinic.

i was touched by the camarederie, mutual respect and love that these two great local drummers have for each other.

also, when tama said, to ask them questions, so they can share their experience, in the hope that one day we have a young super drummer amongst us, that we can send overseas out to the rest of the world proudly.

it is the same thought and one of the 4 main goals we have in mind for soft drum exchange.

on a more trivial note, all the pearl drums and cymbals on stage sounded amazing. i can't believe i'm looking at so many constantinople and HHX stuff 8O
