hey dexian, bass doesnt turn off girls leh! i've heard lots say that the bass is actually more soulful (isnt that what the decent, good and adorable girls go for?) and the groove and thump can be more exhilarating than an electric shred solo!
had that response quite a few times when i played Glass Prison (Dream Theater) for a few friends who haven't heard any DT songs. lol.
Worst responses to bass i've had:
"why your guitar string so thick, n so big one?"
it's a SIX STRING BASS la!
"bass where got six string one! dun bluff me!"

2nd bass. hear all those effects sounds? yeah.
"why need 2 bass. only need one what."

imagine a world without bass... i dun tink i can ever groove to any music anymore if that ever happens.
come on lah if bass isnt improtant, y the hell do clubs and pubs invest in expensive speakers that can make ur heart thump and ur balls vibrate.(reminds me of baybeats. was standing at the front.WOW my balls literally vibratted. haha) and yeah those earphones that can play good low frequency sounds are damn expensive.
