st anger is their way of pushing into new territory. just that no other bands try to copy them now...
remember how "dry" the sound of ...and justice for all was? i clearly remember a few bands getting the same "dry" sound. i.e. Slayers' South Of Heaven.
black album too, when hetfield started really "singing", everyone followed suit. even Dave Mustaine tried to sing...
its their way of pushing to new territory in terms of sound/style/music IMO... wonder who will copy Ulrich's snare sound tho'...
