hi fellas,

Where in your opinion is the best place & most affordable to get a decent guitar set up done?

We're talking restring, truss rod adjustment (may or may not need it), fretboard & frets polishing etc

Whats the price we're looking at?

TKS~!!

Guitar Connection does a good job...although I discovered that my pickguard had some deep scratches a couple of days later...

I would've gone back there to let them fix it but since I discovered it a couple days later, I don't think they'd believe me

In my opinion i guess thats what every guitarist gotta know or do his or herself their own axe's basic setup. i mean i am no good at this course here too but i would search for information on net and try it on a cheaper guitar. so as to learn and understand the way how setup are supposed to meet your requriments are u going to go spend some 70 or even 100++ bucks to shops that only does setup for ya?? haha well i am not spoiled nor rich here so sorry ..... ( this poses no offence to shops that offers setup services i hope ) ...... well but if u still wanna get your expensive gear seted up by someone which is more experienced please do so ;) i would strongly suggest Mr Malcolm Tan he does a very good and careful job professionally !! he earn his credits for sure !!!!!

i definitely second getting malcolm. does a very nice job on my bass set-up, got the action really nicely done too

Whoah, his many adoring fans. awesome. actually it'll be cool if whoever is setting up 4 me wont mind me hanging around a bit to see how its done. its just a cheap (i think) 1980s squire strat ii.

Not familiar with strats at all. It'll be great if i can watch a seasoned hand at work.

Any takers?

i just got my epi special 2 set up by him. though is not some really expensive guitar.. but he treat it with lots of care and also teach me quite a number of new stuffs from taking care of guitar to changing the strings properly. now the action of the guitar is very comfortable and it looks brand new i must say.

now i am really happy with my guitar. thanks malcolm! :D

You can stay around while Malcolm works on your guitar. No problem...
