ok, i emailed them before and their shipping is 10,000 yen. roughly SGD $150-$160. plus 5% GST when it arrives. so assuming u r ordering a 56,000 yen guitar, plus shipping is 10,000. they dun charge tax in japan for the strats as far as i have been informed by them.
so, roughly SGD $1030 before GST. after gst shld be about SGD$1080. apparently it arrives within 5 workin days...

interesting i`ve email Noriko Sada on Dec 2004 abt the same J-custom
at that time its selling at 176000 yen and shipping is 12000yen..
Totalling i guest ard 3000 big fat sing dollar..

Dunno abt the pricing now..

dunno bout the J-Custom guits, but their normal strats like the '57 and '62 RI's are going for about 56,000 - 70,000 yen i think. and she (Noriko) quoted me 10,000 yen for shipping.

but i tried asking her about Fender Hot Noiseless pups before and she quoted me like SGD$650 for the pickups. i could buy 2 sets of Kinmans for that! i called her after that email to clarify she did not email me the wrong price. she later wrote back and said, oh sorry, it should be (SGD$450). what??? ferget it. bought from US for SGD$190 in the end....heh.

actually i dunno about vpost japan. maybe small items i'd feel ok. but amps and guitars, i not sure if they can be trusted to handle carefully. and the actual dimensions of the package might differ from webbie specs. so, using the calculator they have on the vpost site, the volumetric weight will most prob be used and u might be in for a shock.
in the end, at least ishibashi insures the package and guaranteed arrival of 5 days...i might juz go with ishibashi la. vpost USA maybe more worth it...cheers
