What are you views? Can anyone recommend a good overdrive less jarring-ly expensive? i heard the Biyang OD-7 is pretty good too..

Sub has recommended me the Biyang OD8

Its one of the best pedals i have used ( Still am using ) . Retails for only $100 brand new

Comes with 3 interchangable chips INCLUDING the JRC4558 ( which the TS9 ) uses..

I personally use the TL072 chip..the last chip being the NE5532 chip..

nowadays everything's pretty overrated. Dont buy a TS! :p

Nah im kidding. Do a search, some research and try it out for yourself. Try using it to boost a heavier distortion like a DS-1 too or an amp's drive rather than just the clean channel.

aaaah biyang OD7, i like what i heard in the video reviews. have yet to tried it myself. top on my list to buy for rock overdrive/drive booster.

anyone has used this as a drive booster before? how does it stack with other pedals? need opinions =D

some stuff here: http://soft.com.sg/forum/guitar-fx-reviews/58392-biyang-od-7-overdrive.html

TS9 over rated? i see it as over-exposed. people who knows what they want would get the TS9, people who don't, get them as well. the 'scream' in Tubescreamer just about deceives everybody 8-)

I totally agree, the TS is really over-exposed cause there r too many clones out there.......gd and bad ones imo. But the TS is never over rated, cause they deserve the credits since they earned it ;) But perhaps some clones r over rated imo........

I guess if u wanna get a TS pedal, just look ard and test them out until something that fits ur bill........but if u want a no frills TS, no harm getting an ibanez (needs to change the chip), a maxon or even the biyang

good point, but its just that im not much of a electronics/pedal whiz to figure out how to tweak tones very well..

i would like a very smooth drive tone, say, like, Brian May, u know how his licks sound very creamy smooth? no distorted inteference?

I see.....well if u want the smooth kinda brian may sound.....there r many factors (a vox AC30, treble booster, and of course his sig. guitar) to acheiving somthing like it.......perhaps u can try a TS that is loaded with the jrc chip and use it as a booster for ur fave od/dist pedal, or ur over driven tube amp, then just tweak to ur liking. Hope this helps!

if you're looking for an OD, i would suggest the zw od by MXR.
i dont know why not many people are a fan of it but i love mine to bits
