iPad for wireless MIDI

Hi all, is it possible to use an iOS device and the appropriate MIDI interface (Line 6 MIDI mobilizer etc) to wirelessly connect my synth to my DAW (I'm using a S90XS and mainly Reaper/FL Studio) to function as a controller?

I don't currently own one, but I wouldn't mind getting an iPad especially since I could then play around with the coreMIDI apps as well.

Rearranging my room and would greatly prefer not to have a 4m MIDI cable running across the floor.

Sorry if this has been asked before. Thanks in advance!

Don't think midi mobilizer lets you do midi wirelessly. There are several wireless midi interfaces out there which lets you connect your midi controller wirelessly to your DAW. I've never tried one, so I don't know the latency. If you're not doing something live and you're mainly studio based, I think it's always good to do wires. It's just how you manage your wiring.

The only time I would do wireless midi is probably when I use a portable midi controller on stage (wind controller, portable keyboard controller like the Roland AX-synth) and have to move around.

CoreMIDI and iPad is a totally different discussion.

Thanks for the reply. Personally the wireless MIDI interfaces from CME, Kenton MIDIjet etc are not worth the price to me. Reason I was considering iPad was to kill two birds with one stone; wireless control and apps.

Read that one can use apps like MidiBridge (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/midibridge/id449160859?mt=8 "common uses: Duplicate MIDI events from one external device to another and to a remote MIDI destination wirelessly at the same time") to interface directly with the DAW, but not sure if it describes what I intend to do.

Agree that wired is the most practical, just have to think of creative cable management...
