"Insensitive" Tuning Pegs?

Hey all, just have something to ask out of curiosity.

I've noticed that my current guitar (Mexican Strat) and my previous one (Begginer's LP), some of the tuning pegs are not as sensitive as the others, like when i tune my string, it takes alot of "turns" to hit just a slight difference in pitch and unlike the others strings, its very hard to tune accurately as the tuning pegs are not sensitive.

I've also noticed that this problem occurs on the pegs with steel strings on it (G, B, High E) Sometimes, I can be turning the pegs for half a wound? And the pitch doesn't move an inch.

Anyone knows why, and a solution?

its strings winded around too much... i think.. and the lowest E naturally is easier to go up or go down... thicker strings... i think aagain.

it could also be a nut choke- strings getting stuck @ the nut due to the incorrect spatial allowance.

what gauge are you currently using?

well it might also be that both sets of tuners have different gear ratios..

lube up your nuts and string trees and see if it helps, might want to check the height of your string tree as well, i've seen some that were cranked down way too low

there isn't a specific number of rounds one should employ on the tuners' machine heads. BB King simply refuses to snip off the extra string length of his strings at the headstock; he winds them till none are left dangling...
