INRI Studio presents: e'TZAINTES + A WICKED TALE - A Double Screening

Hi, guys

I dunno whether this should be put in the gig/concert section as this ain't exactly a gig/concert, so I put it here...

Anyway, apart from being a somewhat annoying Softie, I'm also the co-founder and co-producer of INRI Studio. Between 1999-2005 we had made two films:

e'Tzaintes, and

AWT%20Official%20sm2.jpg

A Wicked Tale

Both films have had a fair share of success:

e' Tzaintes

- won the Bronze REMI Award at Worldfest Houston International (2003),
- awarded the Asian New Force Award at the Hong Kong IFVA Festival (2003)
- the opening night film at Berlin Asia Pacific Festival (2004).
- a one night screening at GV Grand, to a full house crowd (2002).

A Wicked Tale

- a World Premiere at the 34th Rotterdam International Film Festival. (In fact we had an encore screening at the end, I think)
- an official selection for the Montreal FANTASIA Film Festival (2005)
- a Gold REMI Award at Worldfest Houston International (Horror/Fantasy) (2005)
- an official selection for the Singapore International Film Festival
- an official selection for the Melbourne Underground Film Festival (2005)
- SOLD OUT all 1000 copies of our limited edition "A Wicked Tale DVD" (which includes "e' Tzaintes" film as an extra).

Anyway, I am proud to announce that both films are currently on international sale at Amazon.com.

We are also organizing a double screening for both films at the Sinema Old School, 11B Mount Sophia from 16th August onwards. Tickets are going at $6 each.

To commemorate the upcoming screening, INRI Studio has decided to launch a free online musical release. Three tracks will be released over the period spanning from now, till the screening on 16th August. They are produced by INRI Studio, as part of the soundtrack for our first film, e' Tzaintes.

The first release is actually a cover of a track that was one of the inspirations for the film: Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2). It features myself on vocals, synth and drum arrangement, Wesley Teo (Optical Brothers/E.P.I.C) on guitars and bass, and Bernie (Optical Brothers/E.P.I.C) on guitar and lead guitar.

Download the track HERE
I will update this thread upon the release of the second and third tracks.

sounds cool. I've heard of both films through FiRST magazine back when I still buy it.

Thanks, man. Yeah, they had some articles about the two films on FRST magazine. I guess that's one of the reasons our 1st 1000 copies got sold out. We're pretty thankful for the sale.

Hope you can come down and watch. :)

Woot! hahaha

If you are free for that week beginning 16th August, do come down. Bring along your friends as well :)

Hi, guys

Just a quick note to say that I am looking for 2-3 people to help out on the 15th and 16th Aug, because these 2 days will be the most important days for us (15th being the media screening and 16th being the opening night).

Looking for someone to take some videos (best to have your own video cam), photos (best to have your own digi cam), as well as perhaps an usher or two.

Oh yeah, since the show is NC 16, only 16 and above can help. Sorry ah, but this one we cannot control.

Those interested PM me. Thanks!

Some other news relating to the screening... we are also having a post-screening party!

Celebrating the official launch of two made-in-Singapore underground films [e’TZAINTES] + A WICKED TALE by cult director Tzang Merwyn Tong. A night dedicated to misfits and dreamers, artists and thinkers, poets and believers.

It’s going to be a night of decadence and wicked fun. Like guerrillas in the midst of our sanitized world, in true underground fashion, Beat! DJs Ginette Chittick, George Chua and Joe Ng will hijack the consoles like they do every Friday night, to belt out sounds that match the spirit in which the films are made. Raw. Brash. Uncompromising. Morbid. Macabre.

Also taking the stage is notorious scum rock sensation Johnny Shameless and His Minions. And yes, they are there to bring the filth, the froth and the fury of scum rock back to the people. This is the spirit of the underground fighting back. This is the TZAINTES NOT DEAD Party. Are you ready?

Dresscode: Wicked and Decadent (goth/punk/glam/rock)
This is your chance to really dress up and mess up!

Entry: $18 inclusive of one drink (SPECIAL DEAL: Ticket stub holders of the double screening will get their first 2 beers for only $2 each)

TZAINTES NOT DEAD continues on 16 August as the opening night post-screening party. It's going to be Psychedelic Trance burning through the dance floor here in good ol' Singapore. [e’TZAINTES] + A WICKED TALE opens on August 16 at Sinema Old School.
