increase distortion

just like the other user reply..just get an additional od pedal..stack it up..in front of ya dist pedal..then on both..just tweek the gain...not to much though..might mess up ya tone..my self i ever use mxr zw od,boss sd1,od3-set ya vol to max,ya gain..just abit(the only issue is when u off ya main dist, with ya od still on..u wont get dat clean sound, dats where ya finger do the work, lower abit ya guitar volume to clean up the mess ..btw wat dist u using?

what u need is a distortion pedal. and overdrive will only get u what a cranked tube amp will sound like.

yes, shred is correct, hit harder.. the rest are correct as well. There are many ways to achieve the same thing, but whether does it sounds good to what the threadstarter watned, thats a totally different thing.

anyway, for hitting harder, will have to try out more, amps, effect and work on your dynamics, attack to know what shred was refering to...

most of the time when we play with distortion, we are playing in one dimension, whack, chugga, deeee deeeeee dilllllllll dooooooooooo all those nonsense, instead of finding all the nuauces of picking dynamics/attack, angle of pick to strings what so ever which might change the sound..

for destructive more distortion, blast the amp and make sure the speaker wont survive. Thats extreme distortion non of any distortion pedals can do

That's a lost art pathein... a lost art... and a VERY tiring one!

I realised that the whole dynamics thing - if one doesn't consistently keep playing to maintain stamina & strength, its really tiring to keep at it.

haha, iam almost willing to think that you are trying to talk dirty about the dynamics, consistant playing to keep stamina and strength

guess dynamics thingy also depends on the music playing. If just chuggah or rock out type, it can be hard to do it, since its all high from the start.

Patheinnnnnnn.... wait u kena banned hor.

*shrugs* yeah, I think you're right. Maybe that's why some people recommend new guitarist to start on an acoustic first. The whole start-with-high-gain thing can be detrimental to a player's touch/feel.

Anyway, I'm tired of having to upkeep the stamina and strength.. going to go for hotter pickups. And it ain't nuthing to do with yer absurd idea!

kena banned is being imortalised in the wrong way. Or perhaps, then i can finally get to do something useful instead of doing onlines forums. Yeah i know, i suck bad

hehe, keeping up finger stamina? Play classical or do some flamenco! Power dah, those people. Seriously!
