IKEA "pedalboards"

I went to ikea yesterday, since I was bored. Ended up buying some wood, a couple of wooden handles, and a goddamn floormat for $20. So I fixed the handles and glued the mat to both sides of the wood and now I have a new, small pedalboard. It can hold six pedals and is pretty light. Also, the mat sticks very well to velcro. I used the wood meant for a bookshelf, since I'm too lazy to get a cheaper wood and saw it to length. Anyway it fits into my old messenger bag, and I'm happy with it.

i got my stuff from the queensway ikea too. you need to hunt around the first floor a bit... there's the timber section, or the lumber yard... or you can just poke around the big shelves near the counter area to see if they have any individual boards lying around. think that's where i got my board.

don't recommend you get the pedaltrain-like boards though, they're meant to be drawers and have metal bits that add weight and might injure you. also i have doubts about the board's ability to put up with repeated heavy stomping. you might be better off with a single plank of wood - which can be had at ikea as well.

mesto,

that's super cool.. abt 9.9 percent to what i wish for at a limited budget.
what is the last .1 % lacking?

a friend and i bought two rolls of velcro from art friend in bras basah about a few years ago for about $50 per roll. I bought the hooks, he got the loops. I don't think i've used even half of that yet, tho the loop material got used up a bit more cos we used it to redo our existing pedalboards' velcro, plus i used it to do up my ikea board. its worth the investment!
