If you bought a really really expensive guitar...

my 2nd guitar is more loved to me...the 3rd one cant replace anything. the first one is like shit...

my 2nd one is my JEM JR, now i love it so much, due to the upgrades. i love my 3rd one, my fender strat but i hardly play it, cause keep storing away, damn scared damaged. my first one, a yamaha ERG121 doesnt have that much emotions attached to it. but my 2nd one does, gigged with it quite many times, learned a lot of stuff with it...etc

but if u're playing a seasoned guitar(whether it's u or previous owner who causes the wear n tear) with fretwear i dont think it feels gd right?

Fretwear is the last thing guitarist want to see. The body of the guitar might be seasoned like had been dragged by a motor cycle, but the frets must be in place.

Even the beaten up SRV's no 1 had been gone so many re-fret process.

i know what u mean right now im saving about 1300$S for a tokai les paul and a peaveey envoy 110 but i can never ever see myself throwing or selling my craftsman les paul copy loaded with SD Alnico II and an evolutoion.

maybe becoz it's got gd pickups :D ...j.k.2

I got my guitar at discount 260 but original price is 325. 325 +the 230$ for pups and thats 555 $ and for that you can get an epi classicor standard. So i can say my guitar can match up to any stock epi or ibanez rg. Still even without the pups id still keep it ( but of course id still get some pickups).

goodness.....how can anyone play anything so cheapo like a $2k guitar??!!
They R no good for anything but smashing at the end of the show. 8)
Any real musician knows you neeed to spend 10 times more 2 get good guitar.

expensive is relative
good sound is subjective

play what you can afford and play what you makes good msuic to U.

forget about what other ppl do

Agree with all points above.

Additionally, I would say that (politely criticising the title of this thread) 'really really expensive' is something altogether different. In my opinion (this is opinion only so as a wise sage said 'save your flames for your burgers' :)) and by worldwide reckoning (not by relative to the pocket of a student) the scale - with tongue firmly in cheek - might be something like:

Dirt Cheap $36 acoustic from Davis on the first low rack on the left as you enter the store
Cheap $99 Squier Bullet
Average $400 Epiphone
Above Average $1000 US Strat
Expensive $2500 A signature Fender such as Yngwie Strat
Really Expensive $5000 PRS Custom 24
Really Really Expensive $27000 Conde Hermanos Classical
Totally ridiculously Expensive $300,000 Martin D100
And...
Completely utterly dumbfoundingly &@##(#& expensive: $3M, Blackie.

I think im one guy who cant spend so much on guitar gear even if i had the money .. heart pain siah ... I'd just get a maybe 1.2 k guitar AT MOST and maybe change pickups if it doesnt sound good .. But other than that 600 - 800 dollar guitars are fine for me ... even squier standards are nice to me ... the one with the word STRATOCASTER on it .. big big one ...

Sigh... i'm only at the average $400 epiphone level.i'm only a level 3!!

aiyoh... guitar also must see the pair of hands holding it ma...

its worthwhile to pay more for a good guitar, that will last longer -- thus saving you money in long term -- and sound better.

good guitar need not be over thousands of dollars... or handmade, Doesnt even need to be from america or japan. Most impt, it must last you long enough and satisfy your needs as a musician.

What most guitarists start off doing is buy a cheap electric... bang on it abit..then upgrade pickups... then buy a new guitar... upgrade pickups... then buy a more expensive one... then upgrade pickups... either that or... buy new pedals... ditch pedals , buy multi effects .... then ditch multi efx , go pedals again...

It is kind of a rite of passage for guitarists and it makes guitar companies VERY rich. But if you knew what you wanted... you can SAVE alot of money. and still buy an awesome $5000 guitar.

If u do get it.. and finish mod it... pls pls pls post pictures of it.. i trying my best to imagine how can tt guitar look good.. but den.. in the world of guitar... anything can happen.... hahha...

come on chanmin jia you!! i so excited to see how it will look in your hands

I think it's rather nice ~
Unique ... ~! :)

And the price also resonable ..
but ... 7string ... hehe ...
duno how to use ~

haha main reason for my bid is because its a 7 string... and has a maple fretboard... really hard to find them in singapore...

the blue leds starting to grow on me too... like my first ah beng handphone...
but i guess we all know the natural finish on the guitar is really ugly... will most prob stain it amber or brown .... and route a bridge humbucker.

but

thats IF i win the auction... :)
