If you bought a really really expensive guitar...

Say 2000++ , would you gig with it or bring it for jamming?

Pier.
yes but ill spend more time worrying about it bumping into stuff and what not, rather than playing it .

i definitely do/would..unless it's one of those 10k+ guitars. it's okay to dent an expensive guitar if you're not going to sell it off..flaws give guitars character man.

if i want to keep it, i'll use it normally. i don't see the point of keeping a guitar "virgin" and beautiful... a guitar is meant to be played.

anyway i love the look of (true) relics... that idea of a guitar being played for years by a player simply because it's one of the best on his collection.

I suspect that i will sell it some day so i keeo it in really good condition. But still got play lah except i don't treat it roughly unlike my strat copy.

YEAH!! .. why not? guitars are meant to be shown off in it's full glory ... but when i lug it around i would preferably use a hardcase even though it'll kill me along the way.

If i drive i really don't mind carrying a hard case. but i don't drive so .. heheheheh

Yes.

I would probably feel the pain if it gets damaged but i somehow feel that the difference between a mint and used guitar affects the way you play, phrase and express yourself.

Take the guitar on more outings, develop the character :D

knock it here and there... u see steve vai's evo? what junk and cracked and going to get ripped apart any min in any gig soon?

if that happens to him... well guess he can sell it for a few million $$...

but quite a differnt story for us humans la huh?

Guitars are meant to be played. I paid more than 2k for my LP. I still bring it out to jam and gig. but then again i sold all my other guitars to buy it heh.

I wouldnt, cos its very painful to see a crack or rust or any other type of scars on it. U be limiteed by it cos u keep thinking not to spoil or scratch the guitar while u are playing. I wouldnt buy such an expensive guitar in the first place cos this will jus make those rich guitar makers even richer. the most i spend is sliglhty more than 1k for a guitar.

if i had an expensive guitar, and i suck at playing the guitar, i would most certainly not bring it out to avoid the embarassment.

I would man. The poor guitar is so ex which means it would probably haf some fantastic sound budden ur not letting it sing. poor thing.

i dont mind...
but if it's some special edition or something like tt i'll put it in those glass cases n display it at home if i happen to be rich enough to buy tt kinda stuff in future :D ...

I think 2k plus is normal for a guitar.... in that price range i think those guitars are meant to be played.... but if yur refering to lets say eric clapton's blackie.... well yu'll be a bit of a looney to use it....
