hi as stated above does anyone tried em before?
im thinking of buying em just that it's kinda hard to find review for this vintage series guitar so honestly I cant really judge plus im getting it 2nd hand too :(
here are some of the features
Body type - Dreadnought
Body wood - Back and sides Ovangkol
Top - Solid spruce
Inlay - Pearloid
Neck - Mahogany
Hardwares - Chrome Ibanez vintage style tuners
Finish - Traditional Violin

i was thinking Ovangkol ? what kinda wood is that never of em before isit good?
will the guitar sound better as it age considering the wood and stuff afterall its kinda an old guitar
just hoping to confirm some stuff before purchasing :???:
or is it better if i get a more recent version of ibanez acoustic like the AEL20EVV ?

Hi bro,

I hope this gives u a better picture of the Ibanez V310TV. I believed it is a discontinued acoustic guitar. The Ibanez AEL20E VV you mentioned is a semi-acoustic (meaning it can be plugged in to amp or DI). The V310TV cannot be plugged in.

Also, the back and sides are made of mahogany, according to this poster, rather than your Ovangkol wood I believe. Ovangkol wood (you can read up here) are exotic wood though.

This is the Ibanez AEL20E VV. The full specs here.

pardon me but honestly i dont really have a full understanding of what it means like erm spruce top? solid top/back full solid so what is it that classified it as solid as long as wood of good quality = solid? and what i worry is that by laminating it actually make the sound sucks
but anw bro im not particular if im able to pluck whichever acoustic im gona buy into an amp actually what i was looking in particular about the v310tv is that it's prolly really well aged already considering the day it was manufactured

In my opinion, laminate wood does not equal low quality. I have two all-laminates and they sound better than some solid-tops I've tried. Seriously. It is just a fact that solid wood resonates better than laminates, but laminates don't necessarily sound bad.

I think you should go for something you can plug in, because it'll save you a lot of trouble down the road.

A general idea...
Solid: A single piece of wood.
Laminate: Thin sheets of wood glued together.

Because I made the mistake of buying a pure acoustic. I had to go through two soundhole pickups before finding one that fit it well. Soundhole pickups are nice, but different guitars have different soundhole sizes, which complicates things. So it is best to get something that already has a built-in pickup. Furthermore, you won't have to spend another $400 and drill a hole in your guitar to install a pickup. You just have to plug in and play.

Personally I have a good impression of Ibanez acoustics (I own one!), but I haven't tried the two models you've named so I can't really say...

hmm actually i want a acoustic just for leisure sake and maybe play in small gatherings which i believe an amp wouldnt be needed im having a tought time esp with the v310tv cant find any bloody reviews or videos argg...
as for the other one i heard it on youtube kinda good
but still real tempted to get the vintage one ... so rare :( esp in singapore

In that case, perhaps you could consider the V310TV, but you definitely should arrange to test it out first. The other model has a pickup and would be more suitable if you want to hit the big stage.

Another alternative is to look at the other Ibanez acoustics, but do consider Cort as well. Cort guitars can also be found at Swee Lee.

yea i know the cort earth series but im kinda getting second hand acoustics its kinda costly if i were to get at sweelee
actually i did check out some jack and danny at by left its not bad but then again $_$or you've got any recommendation? for 300 ought?

look up maestro ED1 and ED2. ED2 is with ovangkol and is supposed to be a notch higher than ED1 which is mahogany.

if you want to know about solid vs laminated, that would make another thread by itself. i think the issue has been addressed in a previous thread somewhere. but basically as Eugene mentioned, solid = one piece of wood & laminated = many pieces of wood glued together. go and have a research the pros and cons. its like comparing solid state and tube amps. haha.

ohh sigh
heard the ael20e woots sounded really good even without amps haha gona go test the v310tv later i guess just testing em should be an easier way out

Aha. Jack and Danny. Definitely recommended. I tried a DG108 and it beat the similar-priced Corts hands-down in terms of tone and quality of build. And specs-wise, they're really bang-for-buck too. I'd definitely recommend Jack and Danny over Cort (and even Ibanez).
