I smeellll Jeng jeng jeng jeng jejejejeng... All Thank Fredrik Thordendal for this.

IMO just get a 7 string guitar la. the high A strung on that is near impossible to bend even when using a 0.08 string. unless it came with the novax fanned fret system a diff thing altogether. but im kinda digging the top.

beautiful, where did you find those pics? imagine the nightmare tuning that thing with a floating bridge.
its strange though, most of the 8 strings ibanezes i've seen generally have two edge-fx bridges cut in half and grafted together, this one appears to have a custom fabricated 8 string trem. why would they even bother doing that with a lo-trs design though..

munky from korn has an K14..basically a 14 string version of his regular 7. there have been a couple of RX/roadstar series ibanezes in the past that came in a 12 string version. one of the rx's recently went on ebay for quite a fair amount of money.

Some guy in jemsite, bought a 8 string leviathian guitar, and recorded some stuff. Sounded AWESOMELY low end. No mud surprisingly!

1st thing -
thordendal dont use 8 string tat much during live performance
as seen during troy performance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fpjj29szuFo&search=meshuggah

secondly the reason they got an 8 string mainly becoz they are crazy.....hahah....nah.....because they like to tune their string damn low and every thing they do with their music according to them are just playing ard..for example their latest ep CATCH33 which was actually an experimentation not an album.....they used to have a nevborn guitar but it was tedious for them as they have to tune every time after a song and for this reason i suspect they went to approach Ibanez for help...

the nevborn guitar

I don't see hwo it is not a TRS....
Looks like it. Am comparing to my own Original Edge... the baseplate is totally different, as are the saddles. The arm holder is the TRS arm holder too.

Compare this picture with this...
http://www.jemsite.com/jem/detail/f_tr_e.jpg

Notice how the string locking screws go all the way through.

Compare that with the TRS.

and this...

I'm pretty sure it's not a TRS, it might be a variant of both the edge and the trs, from the looks of the trem arm holder.

Nice guitar by the way, is it going to be a production model?

Souljah, you are comparing to the Lo TRS... the RG8 has the TRS, not the lo profile TRS, so the string lock screws go all the way thru, like an OFR/Edge.

The Edge's baseplate is angled, very angled.... and thicker than that RG8's trem. Also, Edge saddles are more contoured...

There's rumors of a production 8 stringer. Vai took one from Ibanez custom shop says Mikey of Vai.com.

even 7 strings have pretty much fallen from the popularity they had a few years ago, a production 8 string would pretty much be commercial suicide. very few people can actually utilize an 8 string properly, plus add to to the ridiculous amount it would probably cost.

and imagine the amount of meshuggah clone bands that would pop up..
