Ibanez Edge 3 Flyod Rose

Hi there,
I have an Ibanez loaded with edge 3 bridge. It can't keep in tune. When i tune the top E string, the other will go out of tune. I have heard many stories that the edge 3 sucks, but there are some that says they aren't that bad. I'm currently using gauge 10 ernie ball strings. Could it be the guitar is not set up properly (if so, where is a good place to set up flyord rose) or i should change the edge 3 bridge?
Hope you guys can give me some advice

Ensure spring tension is correct.
Tune close to the standard tuning (need not be 100% accurate)
Lock nut. Then tune with fine tuning knobs.
Ibanez's user manual usually includes tuning instructions.

OR, Bring to Master BEEZ for a quick FR tuning lesson.

few possibilities.

1) the trem angle probably isn't set right. send to a tech and try to learn the basics.

2) different string gauge will cause the trem angle to change. example from gauge 9 - 10

3) new strings require some stretching before they can stay in tune. give them a few good tugs.

4) are your springs rusty? if so change them.

5) if you've fulfilled the criteria above but it still goes out of tune, check to see if the knife edges of the trem are worn off.

6) if it still goes out of tune, change to a gotoh trem that fits.

there should be more possibilities but its best to send to a tech if u are unsure to learn as much as possible.

thanks for the quick replies! I will check out the instruction manual 1st! Any idea how much beez charge? Is there any recommendation for guitar techs?

Beez is good, I'm sure he is willing to give you a quick lesson on trems. I would recommend him.

Mine is good and stays in tune all the time. Must be needing a setup. User problem..

the onus is on the owner to get to know the Edge III; there are some issues which are not exactly 'problems' but expected encounters attributable to other matters (usually it's the strings). no issues with my Edge III in my Ibanez RGD...

hmmm one thing i know for certain in full floating trems is that u have to tune all the strings together cos tuning just one will change the bridge tension, thus detuning the other strings. one reason i'm staying away from FRs -_-

There are some instructions on youtube on how to setup floyd rose

Its better to have it setup first time by pros.
after that changing strings is easy just change them one at a time.
Make sure you stretch each string well before moving on to the next.
