Ah. I have tried the SM7. It sounds like a constipated Boss MT2 sans the controls. You cannot control the mids... its always scooped. I tried to coax some nice tones out of it and all I got was super distorted and scooped tones. I guess it works if you like that.

Ehh my 2 cents worth, if you want a more versertile distortion for hard rock emo stuff to low gain od. The Tonebone Classic is a good pedal its expensive bt its gt some good rones u just have to be paitient to tweak it. If on a budget dun get the DS1, if your playing punk and emo with a lot of power chording the ds one sounds damn harsh to me bt thats my ears.

I would recommend you the Pro Co Rat for your type of music. Nice pedal and not too ex.

There are like 4 Rat varients.
Vintage Rat. The Rat, The Rat 2 and the You Dirty Rat all slightly different.

yep heard good things abt the jackhammer wanted to trade my ds-1 for a jackhammer to try out.. but anyhow i've settled for a ds-2 turbo.. it's kinda inbetween the mt-2 and ds-1.. really like it so far..

Hi guys, ive got the Jackhammer kick ass dist pedal. ive seen all this post of pedal mods and the randolf is widely mentioned! im interested in modding my JH-1!

could y'all spare me some info on this randolf guy? and do u tink im doin a rite ting by trying to mod my jh-1?

Randolf mentioned that the mod to the JH1 is to tighten the bass and change the distortion character of the crunch mode to make it more usable.

Just give him a call and he will explain. Even better, drop by his place and he prob has a modded jh there for you to play and compare.

Modding is perfectly fine... its like fine tuning your gear.
