I need advice on starting my home recording.

Hi,

I'm a guitarist, currently looking into home recording and i'm not sure of how to get started. All i have in mind is getting the mac computers (bcoz of the garageband software included)

- Is it a gd computer (mac) for recording? (i'm intending to use the computer strictly for recording)

- I've heard of soundcard, mixer...etc...but i'm not sure how they are all connected to the computer

- How do I connect my guitar to the com to record the sound?

- What esle do I need to know?

I'm really new to this stuff, appreciate if info given is really easy to understand. Thank you.
