Girls will only appreciate if you are really sincere in it.
You only write the song only if you really like her and love her.
Not just to impress a chick who's hot and doesn't like you.
It must be someone you really love and the lyrics will spill by itself.

my sentiments too. :)

Really, people shouldn't pick up the art of music with such intentions (girls) in mind. Don't flame me though.

However, I believe most of us here decided to pick up the art of music in the name of interest.

Though what Paperpunk said is correct. :D

Also, if you already know how to play a guitar (rather well I might add) beforehand, go ahead, try to compose a song which will really bring her to her knees. :p

reality is harsh...i scared the song later so depressing...
but yah i agree... songs shldnt be just about fairytales and fantasies...

X JAPAN's ballads have the most wonderful arrangement, all thanks to Yoshiki's perfectionist nature.

the distorted guitars go so sweetly well with the string ensemble and piano..

there are love songs in practically every genre.. punk, rock, metal, blues, pop, jazz, hip-hop, r&b, techno, reggae, funk, emo, bosa-nova, ska, classical.. it juz how u gonna carry it off..

Agreed. It's so easy to write a song about a girl. It's not to write about a girl that you've been with for quite a while - things are different at different times.

And depending on the kind of girl she is - she might get bored, she might drop a tear (of happiness or not is another thing). Make sure you know if she likes this sort of thing. Or if she'd just prefer your buying her tickets to the Backstreet Boys concert instead.
