how to tell the pickup position

as in whether it belongs in neck/mid/bridge?
if you dont have any kinda markings, only way i guess is to measure its output then compare with manufacturer's specs.

i don't quite get what u are asking. if u mean when the switch is in a certain posiiton and u wnana know which pups are activated, then u can try placing a metal object like a screw driver on the pups while the guitar is pluged into an amp.. when u tocuh a pup and u hear a pop then u know that pup is activated in that swtich position

nah its my stock pups , and i got then right haha , mid pickup no problem , so it was only neck and bridge , and on my first try , woala worked right . lol

but thanks anyways

er... they should be the same throughout... you can swap wat... UNLESS you using RWRP, and/or a hotter bridge and/or a differently spaced neck pup...

use a multimeter to read the impendence ( ohms )

high chance if from same set ( say 60% chance )
the mid and neck might/could read the same impendence

and the bridge should read higher impendence then the mid and neck

thats generally correct ..
unless you mod from different brands etc.
