how to switch between 2 distortations? (guitar)

i tink i sort of get it. but are sure the a/b switch can work? sorry for my noobeness. a/b switch is only used for 2 amp applications rite?
+1 to the stacking option as well, so just set one drive on low gain and the other on higher gain, and mix n match.
somehow, i dont like the tone that comes out even after endless tweaking.

the a/b switch you have in mind is for amps switching. There is also one for switching 2 loops of pedals. Either this Or that kind of.

If you want something that can blend between 2 loops, to and fro, in between, either or etc. Theres pedal that do such thing also. But it might be confusing as of now.

is thats the case only option left is to get a looper. As our dear pathein bro has explained. The looper works like this

guitar - > loop A (gt2) -> amp or
guitar -> loop b(ds1) -> amp

so when you switch the loops your changing between your gt 2 or your ds1. 1 stomp required only.

drop bro blueark a pm and see if he can build you something withn your budget.

its nice to see how other's make things clear.
was planning on getting one ls-2 but was confused about whether there was a need for another amp or having an amp with 2 inputs.
soft gave a clearer view.

so i guess the question is answered then for me.
its basically just to switch between two sets of efx leading through a single input amp.
maybe.

Actually, the LS-2 can do more than just switching efx. It has volume controls for either loops too - so you can boost your signal if you need it to, e.g. when running thru some vintage effects that cut your volume.

Picture paints a thousand words

If nothing is selected, then the signal goes straight through.
If Loop A is selected on the WOBO, then the signal passes through the pedals in Loop A.
If Loop B is selected on the WOBO, then the signal passes through the pedals in Loop B.

On this particular looper, you can also select BOTH Loop A and Loop B at the same time.

The INV switch inverts whatever setting has been selected. If both loops are on, the INV switch will turn them both off. If Loop A is selected, then INV will turn off A and turn on B.

Hmmm.. Are there any loopers that let you inverse the loop, say, from Loop A into B, and step on a switch, Loop B into A..
It'd be cool to variate your sound a little.. x)

see that silver stomp box? has like a/b/a+c/bypass and all that stuff. Once you have it made, you dont have to tapdance. Thats custom made to my specifications at TY music.

Hey its me again. I got one scenario which i totally cant figure out. But any of u guys know any way of switching distortions. For example. For one part of this song, id like to use the sansamp gt-2 but for another part id only like to use the ds1. can anyone help? :oops:

different song, right? you got plenty of time to step on the the gt-2 to switch it off, and tap on the DS1 to turn it on :D
