I would like to record from my clavinova using cubase

i've just bought audiogram6 (midi interface). tried recording but cubase don't seems to record my playing. everything is well connected. plug in cable from the mic jack of clavinova to the interface and then connect the interface to the pc. tried every means but still doesn;t work.

can anyone help me with this?

Thanks

Are you trying to do a midi recording or audio recording? What is the connection chain between your clavinova and PC (please state the exact way you connect the cables)?

its CVP 307

i'm using a normal audio cable. those 1/4 kind on both sides. conect one side to the mic hole of clavi and the other to the interface. then connect the audiogram6 to the pc

i want the songs i played on the clavi to sound exactly the ssame when played back. hence got this interface to do it so that it'l be saved as wav file and sound like audio cd. so how do i go about doing it?

when i hit the record button in cubase, it does not detect any sound from the clavi but the bar is moving

You can try the AUX OUT from your CVP 307 to the Input of the Audiogram6 .

MIC (INPUT VOLUME, MIC/LINE IN), VIDEO OUT
PHONES X 2, MIDI (THRU, OUT, IN), AUX PEDAL,
AUX IN (L/L+R, R), AUX OUT (L/L+R, R)
AUX OUT (LEVEL FIXED) (L,R)

[audiogram6]
Headphones Stereo Phone connector x 1
Microphone Mic/Hi-Z input x 2
LINE IN Phone connector x 4 (L/MONO x 2, R x 2)
LINE OUT Phone connector x 2 (L, R)
USB TO HOST USB (TO HOST)

cvp > (i know there's aux out,but lets try phones first) Phones > 1/4"jack cable > audiogram6 hi Z input #1. > cubase AI4 (make sure you configure the audio channels etc, set ASIO drivers to your audio interface , set your inputs, then arm record + monitor your channel) and record and play away.
you got it?
if you can't pass this stage you're messing up at one point or another.

once done, take your headphones, plug into the Aux out L or R of the jack, play your clavinova, is there sound? if there's sound coming out of the headphones, means there will be sound going into your audio interface. if you can't get your audio interface to monitor/capture the sound then something is wrong with your asio config in DAW or the inputs. update us again.

i managed to record now. but when play back, sound is only heard from the L speaker. i recorded in stereo. may i know how to set it so that i can hear sound coming out from both speakers?

did you record using what I suggested? is your wave signal recording in STEREO but playback only one side? (something wrong with your output configuration, check connections etc), or you tried my method and it works but the playback is only left , and that explains because what I suggested is only "mono" / left".
