how did u guys find the tone tt u like?i been toying around with my effx pedal..cant seem to find a nice n satisfactory tone tt i'll stick to for long..

btw,who do u think has gd tone?i like shredcow's tone..

effx pedal? u mean multi effx pedal?

Dump that!!

Gd tone in 3 easy steps

Step 1 decide what type of music / tone u like

step 2 Get decent amp. 400 - 500 should get u quite a gd small amp.

Step 3 Buy individual effects starting with those shredcow's using since u like his tone. E.g Screwdriver?

Thanks... thats actually... quite interesting since all along, or recently rather, I've been concentrating on getting the tone in my head and I really didn't think it was something very like-able to the masses. :P
I recall Randolf's look of horror when I demo-ed my pedalboard @ his home... hehehe...

Hmmm... however... what song of mine did you hear? I've changed my entire setup 3 times so... you might be liking either:

1) Marshall MG30DFX! And my guitar...
2) Tech21 TRI AC, TS9DX, and my guitar...
3) The whole boatload of booteek rubbish I think I call my tone?

erm,i'm not sure either..i dont hav ur mp3s..i watch ur vids at youtube..but cant rmb which vid..

u mean u cant get gd tone with a multi-effx pedal?

youtube huh... :P Those horrid vids... ah... simple...
Tech21 TRI AC and prob a Randolfed TS9DX. Then humbuckers, mahogany bodied guitar... should get you there.

You can get good tone with a multiefx, but ... its... not very... uh... real? Warm? Uh... I dunno how to put it forth. Its not something I've used before, and I will probably never use it because I get my tone in my head from my current gear.

Anyway, tone is just 1 part of the equation... feel is equally important. Some pedals are more compressed than others, "robbing" you of dynamics.

hah?oh yeah..wat does those compressor n etc pedals do?n wat's dynamics?damn i'm a n00b :(..

oh yeah daniel,u dont produce the 'shriek' sound when u play higher up the neck like most guitarists do..

Compressors... you should google for it.

Dynamics = pick harder, louder, pick softer, volume softer.

'shriek' sound? Maybe because I didn't want to make it 'shriek'?

erm,i dunno how to describe tt sound..juz tt i've seen many many guitarists produce tt annoying super sharp n thin sound when they play high up the neck n i'm sure they dont do it intentionally..the guitarists in the league of extraordinary guitarists dont hav tt..n neither do u..

Uh...hmmm... okay... "the guitarists in the league of extraordinary guitarists dont hav tt"? Okay.. I am not sure man.

Got a link? Youtube vid? clip?

no no no not tt..not harmonics lah..i cant find anything in my search the past few hrs..wait til i find then send u lah..if not bo pian i'll hav to record n send u wat was tt 'shriek' i heard..

It depends on what your ears like to hear, and how fussy you are as you journey on the quest for your preferred tone.

Mind you, it's not just about ONE pedal, but the entire gear...if you know what I mean.

the only shrieks i can think of is pinch harmonics. they not natural bell-like harmonics. they make sharp high pitch noises.
