yo guys and gals.. just wondering here.. how many of you keyboardists are into bands like Rainbow / Deep Purple or any old school rock bands that makes use of the keyboards? its quite rare nowadays and that makes me wanna take up the keyboard to add to the already small number of people there is at the moment

I'm into Symphonic Metal.....does that count as well?

Anyways you should take up keyboard! It's so fun playing melodies with your right hand and doing "whammys" with your left hand on the pitch shifter. Have to agree with you, most keyboardists I've come across are mostly into Pop and Jazz music. It would be awesome if we could have more keyboardist into rock/metal!

your signature is my sentiments exactly!

Anyways, Doubleblade...I'll have to ask you how the pitch shifter works sometime. When I play with it, it sounds like bad indian music. LOL...

Into JR and Sherinian too. i kinda like emerson, lake and palmer 2. ( retro stuff). also into tat guy tat plays for niacin.

i think one of the biggest prob is looking for the tone u 1 and programming the keyboard ( i just got started and it's a pain)

Yeah I too am trying to find a suitable lead tone for myself. Since I'm just using a normal keyboard, I don't have the luxury of tweeking sounds like you would do it on synths. Only layering of 2 different patches together is all I have.

Anyways I'm more into Janne Warman and Hendrik Kalemberg. Anybody into them?

I like Janne's keyboard lead tone thou....

dun really like the tone of Janne. sounds not meaty enough. reminds me of the lead tone of Kevin Moore. I prefer the tone that can scream when u play high keys? i using korg pa50 ( got it's limitations, tat's why i posted the virtual Instrument trend so i can improve the tone and create my own tone)

True

Yeah Editing sounds can be quite a pain in the A$$. Still trying to get around the many parameters and learning what they atcually do . hehe

Speaking of which http://www.progsounds.com is a good start for many who wants resources. They cover most interfaces.. including motifs and such,,
