Hi softies, how do i do recording? what needs to be used? I have a cube 30 n GT-2 which allows recording.. how do i do it?

hey congrats on the GT-2 purchase.

I think it has a speaker simulator so just plug it straight into the line-in of your computer.

I plug mine to "Line IN" and don't forget to choose Line In in the audio options for recording. Its usually set to Microphone.

haha the gjkung comes to warn others of the evils of podxt!

I think the gt-2 is sufficient for recording, the podxt is actually a "superior" system, fixing some small with something big.

podxt has little use if you've chosen the GT-2 as a preamp already

edit: about the line-in. You need to find a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch male adaptor. Then use a 1/8 inch jack audio cable( the normal ones for home audio use) and put it into the blue input at the back of your comp.

How do you use the Gt2 to record? It only has an In for Guitar and out for amp. The only way I can think is to use the amp's hole for headphones...

i found the volume is too low if direct from GT2 to headphone. Will that be the case if it get connected to recording device?

Impromptu, the GT2's output is low... you need a pre amp of sorts to boost it. If your recording device has a way to up the input volume then its cool, but if not, then you would have to find a way to do so.

If you are using a PC, you just have to up your recording input volume.

midi is only for midi data, not for audio signal.

oh??really??but I can convert any wav file that i recorded to a midi format using my software.....and some of the guitar fx/keyboard have their midi output rite??sorry if i made mistake....cos for me I always plug the guitar directly to the audio card.......

midi is sorta comman language between machine. It doesnt do music by itself. Its like a bridge linking different brand of machine, allowing them to share things, tweak parameters thru 3rd party etc.

thx guys.
ne programmes i nid to use to record?

so i record frm amp - guitar - GT2 - computer's blue pnt??

can i have pictures of the jacks n cables? im kinda confused

Get a two headed fm cable (or so that's what mine's called) and a convertor...not sure what's its name but it has a head like those of guitar cables but has a hole for heads like headphones.
