How can I attach my Pedal Power to my Pedaltrain Pro?

Anybody has any advice on how I may be able to mount my Pedal Power on the underside of my Pedaltrain Pro without the mounting brackets?

I use 3M Dual Lock Reclosable Fasteners. This is about 5 times stronger than velcro. They are basically little plastic mushroom fasteners that interlock with each other.

It's so strong i can basically lift the entire pedalboard from the PP2+ itself without it becoming detached - in fact make sure you apply it right otherwise you're gonna need a lot of strength to pry it apart!

More details about Dual Lock here http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/...E3E02LECFTDQGLE0_nid=C2M4LMQLVBbeN1J2KJ2SJCgl

The link to click on is "3M™ Dual Lock™ Reclosable Fastener Roll Goods With Adhesive", then "High Surface Energy (HSE) Material". That should give you the range of products.

It might be easier if you just look at the Catalog at http://www.vikingtapes.co.uk/3m/pdf/duallock.pdf, you'll notice 3 different "sizes" of the plastic mushroom stems - 400, 250 and 170. Suggest you get the 400 to pair with the 250. Works best that way.

You can buy these locally from the local distributor Ever Win Enterprises:

Just pre-empting the "so where's the website", "what is this duals lockz", "is there a place i can buy in singapore", "what time is the shop open", "does the shop have it in stock" type questions.

Oh wait - i forgot the classic "how much is it" - it's about $15 a metre for each type. everyone happy now?

I need pictures... of your board... with the dual lock... pp2 attached... without pp2... from say, 7 angles in natural light please.

Also, can you help me do it for free?

^ Pictures to be in step by step format, please. Numbered, not alphabetized. In Roman numerals. With easy to follow instructions covering seven different languages, including Latin and Swahili.

Thanks.

Hey thanks for the replies, esp Dan. But you forgot to mention where its made in. Got melamine ma? If china like dangerous leh what if it explode how

Saw Danelectrico's board yesterday, you can even carry the whole board(with pedals and all - Dan has a hell lot of pedals!) by lifting the PP2 unit. That's how strong the Dual Lock Fasteners are.

danelectro, i use those dual lock stuff. they are very very dangerous man. DO NOT stick them to the furry side of the velcro. cos they wont come off. they get stuck there and it takes a hell lot of strength to remove it. and when i finally did, i realised that the hooks on the dual lock velcro were ripped off.. they just dont want to let go of the furry side of the velcro.

they are made to stick to an identical piece of dual lock velcro and they are still very strong. but they come off easily when pulled at an angle.

for my pedaltrain, this is what i did, although mine is done with a trex fuel tank junior, its still the same concept. i used the 3M dual lock velcro here.

pardon the glue. i cant rmb what glue i used already but it's meant for woods. i clamped the pieces of wood to the pedalboard for abt an hr till it dried then i stuck the velcro pieces on.

the velcro's adhesive is very very strong, but be sure to stick it to the smooth solid side of the wood.

i'm really pleased with the results actually.

OT question: For those who use PP2 or equivalents, where do you get power cables with angled heads on side? The ones that come with the PP2 are straight headed on both sides. One angled and one straight would work very well.

Either you buy from the various overseas (US mainly) stores that sell angled-head power lines...

Or you buy a Visual Sound daisy chain and cut it up - which is what I did.

Would it be possible to use a Fuel Tank Juniors voltage doubling cable (2 seprate 9v outlets into a single 18v) with the Pedal Power 2+?

Hey dudelove

yes, Dual Lock and velcro are not meant to be paired up. Use Dual Lock only with other Dual Lock (and preferably use different sizes, eg 400 with 250).

Nice idea with the wood. What i did last time to raise my wah pedal high enough when placed on my board so it'd clear the necessary height of the ridge of the board, so it's input jack would be accessible with a cable from the guitar was this. Dual Lock's sticky back surfaced is slightly raised. Furthermore as Dual Lock is plastic, when joined together it adds almost 3/4 of a cm or more to the pedal. I just took 2 strips of Dual Lock and joined them together; the adhesive end of one was stuck to the wah, and for the other adhesive side i stuck on the adhesive side of a standard velcro hook tape. Likewise you could probably repeat this enough times to raise the height till you get what you need (if you want to avoid using glue on wood, for example).

oh btw, 3M dual lock can also be found at home fix. but be prepared to pay man.. its abt 6bucks for 2 small strips

Hey Dan: Did you have to add a buffer between the bottom of the first bar and the PP2+? Cause I've been trying to find a way for the past hour and a half to attach my PP2+ on the underside using the Dual-Lock thingo, but for the life of me, can't figure a way how to. No matter what angle, there's always this gap that prevents me from attaching it under.
