i tink some one asked b4...but wat happens when u use a guitar effect on yr synth.?

The 'effects" on my board sucks man.(okie la...i very kwa zhang. not say sucks,,but for leads...most not powerful enuff)

I also realise on thing 5 years late....most guitarists /out other bandmate peers think that our board sounds are all effects...i.e they dun know that patches/voices and effects are two different things for most if not all boards.

sometimes i tend to forget, when my bandmates tell me not to use this effect,i delve into the effects menu, change the phaser into delay etc... and they go" hey why are u using this string effect...hey we need some pads/atmopsheric stuff here.."...
anyone face this b4. :P

the effects on most boards are not that powerful unless u tweak them tastefully, its used mainly to complement the original voice/patch itself.

wonder wat kinda stuff we can do when use a guitar effects with our synths.

using guitar synth on synth?

iam not sure the actual meaning of that.

But for guitar synth, i tend to find it a good compliment to add on whats can be gotten from the guitar and pedals itself. But if just using the guitar as a signal generator to trigger the guitar synth and use it as a main sound, i find it might need a slightly different approach and playing on the guitar.

Imho, most setting in the guitar synth that iam using(gr-33), its rather synthetic, machine sounding if just using it as a main tone generator.
It can be fun, but not for long and when needing it to blend it with the rest of the instrument in a band setting. Too much of it, it can be almost too irritating in the sense that might as well use a keyboard or thru a midi controller without getting the ghost/weird electronic blips beeps sorta for some patches.

With the blend switch on the synth PU with the guitar tone and using it in a controlled/background kinda application, it can turn heads and make people wonder whats the sound coming from the guitar.

so far for my usage, the main sound which iam mostly using come from delays/reverbs and the usual overdrive/distortion pedals which are being blended with a blender footpedal circuit from goose. On top of that, adding the guitar synth in the background as a "colour" ingredient, it can be really fun, without having the guitar synth for main tone

imho.

ooo...i see that i am not very clear...so sorry...

i meant using normal guitar effects( zoom, boss etc) on a synth(keyboard)
