Hello! Im a JC2 student who is hoping to study music after my As' xD
So far im considering Lasalle SIA and Berklee, and i desperately need some advice T.T
Are there other music schools i can consider? Preferably if my A'level results can be of any use -_____- or I would hv wasted a gd two years for nothing.
Also, i would like to know more about e admission criteria (as in, how good must I be to get into a course, e audition/interviews) etc.
btw im a pianist/keyboardist. And I have two friends who are interested too, a drummer and a vocalist. We are quite confused now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

for la salle, its more modern, contemporary stuff..
nafa is more to classical and jazz, more chinese orientated..
for most music courses in la salle, the minimum criteria should be grade 6th practical and grade 5 theory for abrsm, trinity etc etc for whatever instruments youre gonna do..
depending on what courses you want..
im not very sure actually.
but i think you should go to the school personally and check it out, the guys are rather nice =D

Or maybe consider Music Technology courses too.

For example, in Keele University in Britain, students study a double degree. And most of the time, they're doing Degree in Music Technology and Degree in Music.

Music technology covers areas like audio engineering, music production, midi synthesis, etc, and of course, music.

hey guys thanks for the replies :)
arghx my friend does not have any paper qualifications to fit the minimum critieria for admission to la salle. but still we maybe making a trip down to la salle to enquire further xD
hmm after considering a few schools we might be giving the auditions (to Berklee) a shot. but this will be quite tough as (we think?) they may not really judge u by high cert qualifications or music background which means that we really really have to make a good impression during the auditions and interview. so we hope that anyone here can give us some advice hehh

meanwhile do keep the suggestions rolling in!! thank u :)

hoho can one laaa!!
i have 2 friends who graduated from berklee already.
good luck friend, and to your friend too.

hopefully after my ns i can get in too xDD
then i'll be like your juniour or something
