I am looking for earphones which do just as above. Prepared to spend abit to invest in proper earphones. Something which has good bass and a balanced sound, for a portable mp3 player. If possible, state price, retail outlet and possible review/opinions.

Thanks.

Sony earphones

Get the Sony MDR-EX71SL earphones.

Black and comes with 3 different earbud sizes. carrying pouch, no leakage. Too much bass to the point I had to turn off mega bass from cd player to balance it off. Totally in your own world.

Bought from Sony store in funan centre. $80.

oh ya I had those. Awesome sound reproduction. Too bad I lost the rubber caps, rendering the earphones absolutely useless.

Theres this brand, called Audio Technica. Quite good eh. Can consider. I got mine at carrefour. Dunno whereelse have.

my Sony MDR-EX71 (or isit 70?) just died yesterday after 4yrs of usage. that is a long time for an earphone. so i highly recommend the sony. plus the in-ear thing is bass heavy and it "locks out noises from outside."

i saw them at CDRama, the Popular Bookstore CD chain. maybe the rest of the CDRama also have them. its got something similar to the "Sony in-ear-type mentioned in above thread". and its cheaper too!

actually u could purchase them from Sony, they do sell replacements for it.

i already checked with their boutique shops, dude. They don't carry 'em.

hmm wierd I was told that if i lose the rubber cabs I could get it from them when I purchased it. :?

heya,

The following for your consideration,

1. Grado SR60 - change the pads to the bowl type. more comfy i find. Most comfy headphones ever used, sounds excellent, ear fatigue is negligible. balanced sounds and excellent bass response. imho. abt $120. at Music by Design, Adelphi.

2. Sony MDR-A44 foldable type. comfy and light. sounds great to me too and pretty balanced. not too over hyped bass and highs. or maybe am just used to it. anywhere shld have. maybe about $40..?

Not a fan of isolation type earphones cos it sounds a little unnatural to me, and ear fatigue sets in like pretty fast to me. so i prefer the open types, where there is leakage admittedly...

3. The other earphones recommended by friends are Sennheiser and Audio Technica. But never really tried them so can't comment much.

hope this widens your choices. cheers

there's this earphones called sony nude-ex or something.

something below $100 and it sounds really gooooood.
you got check out song brothers at simlim for them. actually most audio shops sell them.
