hey need some help with setting EQ

hi there!

this is my 1st post here. haha. i'm currently having a trouble setting my boss PQ-4. i intend to boost the frequency that will allow my guitar sound to cut thru during solos but im not sure which frequency i should boost or reduce.

anyone can enlighten me on this?? or tell me more abt frequency stuff??

Boost the mids.

boost frequencies around 1k-4k... reduce the amount of bass and add a dash of highs for clarity... sorta like an inverted or upside down V... be careful not to get things muddy...
