hey anyone have tried active pickup(emg) on to fender jazz'4

hey, any recommendation on changing pickup for my fender USA, 4 strings 50 years anniverary model.

actually i like my current bass and it has been with me for like 11 years. but the orginal pickup is getting weaker. been reading and looking for a pickup, any experts for some recommendation?


was thinking of changing to emg active pickup jv set, but of course i have to face that i will be having a battery hanging outside the bass.(not going to dig a hole dont wish to damage the wood) but i am just curious hows the sound will be like on fender body.

my next choice will be dimarzio ultra jazz DP149.

any other choice other than bassline.

Never tried 'em, but heard superkicky's precision one 'live' and tot it sounded real good!

anyway, all the stuff on the page are quality products. you might even be tempted to venture into the possibility of a new preamp, i.e. audere. :lol:

i'd personally prefer my fenders to sound pasive. thats the way they're supposed to be. but of course if i had a 5 string US deluxe. that's a different story altogether
