Help>Power Supply And Daisy Chains

Okay basically Im using the boss power supply adaptor and these ibanez octopus chains to power my 10 boss pedals. There is an incredible amount of hum coming out of my amp.

I was wondering what alternatives to the boss powersupply and ibanez octopus chains have I, to power my pedals. I have heard about oneSpot but where are these retailed?

Also,I was wondering where 9V AC adaptors could be purchased.

Thanks

yo phanto,

u can get onespot at G77. also got another power supply adaptor at crumplerpark.blogspot.com.

AC power supp look for goooooose!

www.mrmisse.com has the 1Spots.

You buy that, then try replacing your current Boss Adaptor with that. If there is still some noise, then look at the way you chain up power to your pedals.

It is possible, that the noise comes from daisying chaining.

Some pedals don't fare well when chained up to each other, like dirt pedals and modulations - you can some times here the LFO working or modulation working.

Seperate them... like use 2 1Spots or in your case, Boss & 1Spot.

Of course, you buy a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+ then don't have to bother too much liao.

thanks so much shred and kenneth u guys are always a big help.
I decided to go and order 2 sets of that 9v adaptor from crumplerpark and the daisy chains from there. Hopefully the hum will be less!.

ok this one is personal recommendation.

if you have the $$ go for the voodoolabs pedal power 2.

BUT

do save your $$ on the cheaper and JUST AS GOOD and CUSTOMABLE power supply from Om Laboratories™.

pm this dodgy fella called edder.

I would think the OM Labs power supply is definately worth it.

But do note nicky, the Voodoo Labs has a lot going on in it - try 8 isolated outputs, sag feature, AC output, etc.

Of course, do you need EIGHT isolated outputs? Probably not.... and would you want to spend that much? Probably not... So go for the OM Labs - reliability is the key concern and Ed would have that,

wow, that's cool Shred...Phanto, u might wanna get ur hands on one for the AC output as well then. Edder can also include an AC output if need be, but think it's a bit more complicated.

yeah i did hear about the battery sag feature which looks like a novelty, but I havent thought of a use for it, so no-go for me, thats why i settled with the om labs power supply. interesting though, the idea of simulating a dying battery, but at first glance, it seemeth redundanteth. but who knows! there may be ppl who actually do appreciate that feature for all its worth..

The sag works well with dirt pedals, or at least that's what i have been doing, haven't put it with modulation stuff yet.

It works best with fuzz.

Or transistor based dirt pedals.... for the matter.

Changes the distortion character and makes it just nicer... more saturation, smoother tone etc etc.

Did u know... if you run 2 dirt pedals in series... and you use isolated power for each of them, you get even less noise.

Dodgy fella is right............and so is OM Labs! Luv the Sahasrara OD! Jus PM Ed and he'll give u a rough quote and all that.

wow... thanks guys... i is feeling your lurrrveee...

but please...

Come to me only if you're more or less happy with your setup as the power supply is designed for your board.

Pedals that are most leceh are Line6, Digitech Whammy, Electro Harmonix and an odd one here and there.
