I'm very new to Guitar.
Therefore i'm not sure what to do for a rookie
first thing i know i need to get a guitar for myself.
Anyway What's the different between normal acoustic and TGM acoustic??

Mathew'

bro,
grab an acoustic which is within your budget
brand-wise,its ok as long as its within your budget

diff between normal and TGM is, IMO, brand names..
if you're planning to self-taught,buy some guitar books to learn how to strum and play some simple chords
alternatively can get some lessons..there are good teachers here in soft

amen to that.
I know you just started and everyone is sayign to get this and that.
but its entirely up to your 'feel'.
whats nice to them may not be nice to you.
try something to your liking.
its your money afterall.

to me its never about the brand name.
its about the quality.
the wood, the tone that you want.
heck my 14 year old kapok sounds nicer that my friends congress!
Ever wondered why old men (and woman) are just happy with their (maybe to you) a lousy guitar just because of the brand name?
its the quality that matters.

my friend just bought an Aria acoustic for 100+? and it sounds better than those costing 300 over at the shop.

serious talk, no joke here...

Agreed! Mathew bro, TGM, like Takamine, are just brand names. You gotta try them all out to know which one suits you better. I've tried some takamines(not too sure of their models) and not a single one feels the same way as to when I hold on to my TGM. It's all about personal preference. People say buy this, buy that -- it'd only confuse you and make things go even more complicated. Just go down to a few shop and try a few guitars for yourself. Nevermind the brand names, bro. In the other thread, you said that it's possible for you to fork out $200. Just my 2 cents, bro, with that amount, I'd buy a cheap guitar and the rest of the money, I'd splurge on chord book, scale book, capo, picks etc. and go for guitar lessons to improve my guitar playing. That, of course, is utterly up to you.

yeah!

haha and never once say your guitar is not good or up to standard.
coz the guitar is as good as the person playing it.

ever seen an old uncle played a lousy electric guitar but sounds so damn good?
then replace the uncle with a young guy who thinks his good and it just sounds awful?
same guitar, same stompboxes and sound settings but different people.
(based on personal experience)

get what i mean?

unless of course your talking about a really damaged guitar. now THAT is really a 'not good' guitar.

I'm sorry what're chord book, scale book, capo, picks ?
I really very new.
I do not even know what's the correct way to hold the guitar.
saded.

Hi Matt, why do you want to play the guitar in the 1st place?

Do you have frens playing guitar?

I suggest you play with them for a couple of hours, then you would be clearer with things guitar.

Wish you all the best with your guitar journey.

I'm not sure also why i wanna play a guitar.
I just think that i wants to give it a shot
try playing a guitar.

Mathew'

Thank.
Anyway there two different kinds of string right?
steel and nylon whats the diff between both of it.

chord book, scale book, capo and picks what are these stuffs can someone explain it of me. Thank.

I'm sorry if i had asked too much questions.

Mathew'

glad to help you out bro
no prob

nylon strings is generally associated with classical music eg: bach,mozart..
steel strings normally for pop, folk music..
diff is the tone..using steel strings is generally brighter although some nylon equipped guitars do sound bright too..

Is it easy to read guitar chords and tabs.
Anyway what the different between chords and tabs
isn't it the same?

Mathew'

chords are what u see as E, A, F and whatsoever. they are play in strumming usually.

while tabs, they really tell u where to fret with dots and numbers. even learning chords use tabs usually.

try and google it bro. u'll see what i mean.

example of tab for G chord.
