help: difference between the xotic RC booster and AC booster

does anyone know the difference between the xotic RC booster and AC booster? and maybe some information between both of them, as well as the BB preamp? thanks!

AC Booster: Based On Vox AC
RC Booster: Based On TS

isn't the RC Booster a clean boost? why is it based off the TS circuit? it barely even has gain.

i always looked at this analogy to describe the difference between the three.
RC= Really Clean
AC= Almost Clean
BB= BluesBreaker

yup agree. The RC has barely any drive so to say on it.

gibbytones: Its a variation of TS. there is drive if you max. Not alot. just a little.

I have not opened them before, but to my knowledge,

The RC and AC boosters have exactly the same circuit, just with a different number of clipping diodes.

They are built almost entirely on the TS circuit, but with a different opamp configuration, and an added active tone control.

So Gary, it depends on what you need. I used to own the RC, as mentioned, it's a 'really clean' booster. Nice pedal to own.

yup RC is based on TS.

gerald, try hotter pups with the RC, they almost make it a full blown OD pedal. =)

Got that result with the HFS pup on my PRS.
