Do you guys find it hard to sell your guitars?

Well, I've only got one guitar. My first electric guitar.

Samick Greg Benett Series - Malibu

Currently saving up for a Squier Tele Custom

I notcie that some of you guys sell off guitars to buy new ones.

I find it hard to sell my samick. Maybe 'cause it's my first electirc guitar?

Its like, its on this guitar I learn to alternate pick and do so manymore.

But yeah, we can't have everything right? Want to buy new guitar, need money, no choice must sell current guitar.

anyone find it hard to sell? or for some, its normal to sell off?

dude i know exactly what you mean. For me, my first guitar will always be with me although its not my no.1 guitar. I'm never letting this guitar go, il only save up for new gear but il never trade this guitar for anything. Not because its a great player but its my first ;)

haha, I'm sort of the opposite, first guitar sold very fast. i find it easy to part with guitars, but the only guitar which i'm unable to part with is my current guitar, cuz i built it up myself with different parts and done many mods to it. :D

well ive been playing my first guitar for like...i forgot..3 years? its been my only guitar at that point where i learned alot of shit and learned to 'appreciate' it more.

lol.i changed many within a year.perhaps, too many.i will only feel the inability to let it go if that guitar is worthy of keeping, like lets say.very comfortable?nice tone?etc

hahaha yeah.

so far, im still n00bish at guitar. so to me, my samick sounds good 8O

haha. so i'll just hold on to it.

but if its guitar pedals, i dont mind selling if i dont like it. no use keeping.

guitar...its like, a jockey and his horse.

good analogy?

I still have the first guitar I ever bought with my hard earned money ... a Yamaha YG1212.

I keep every guitar I've ever bought except those I dont want to be found dead with. :D

I keep every guitar I've ever bought except those I dont want to be found dead with.

I'm curious. What kind of guitars wouldn't you want to be caught dead with? :?:

I wish I still have my first guitars. a JEM77BFP and an Ibanez 440R. *sigh* Dunno where liaoz...

Dun sell it bro....now I regret that I sold of my first guitar that time....Mine was a yamaha eg 303 black color :'(.....

keep on first guitar... my first guitar was a yamaha eg112... bought almost 7yrs ago... diff from now... i made a good choice.. did some modding.. now its totally rocks!!! lolx... sentimental values... my dad bought it for me as he see my interest in guitars!!! other then tat is all my savings so.. its easier to part... :)...

yes man its always painful to let one of your babies go... Like recently i sold off my Rg320fa to get a Rg450ltd... It sucked cuz that was one of my gigging guitars. But i guess sometimes you just cant have everything you know.. Haha interesting that you posed the question, this was something i was wondering about too

Likewise, I felt reluctant to sell my squier, but i had to let it go to fund my other stuffs. And 2 guitars is too hard to manage at once, as I could not make the most out of them.

It was on my squier that I learnt a lot of my stuff: alt picking, simple sweeping, gained dexterity among other things. I loved it, and I still do. Haha.

Keep em all...

Keep em all I say...
I have too many regrets selling already.. and have landed up paying more to get similar one..

Sold my very first screwed up acoustic guitar that only had 2 strings when I got it...

My first electric a peavey predator was lent to a friend and it never came back.. forsoke that axe after I got my fender strat..

then I sold the strat to get a Gibson Les Paul...

then I miss the strat like crazy...

then I didn't like that les paul.. sold it... then regret straight away..

then I went crazy and bought 1 tele 1 strat and a les paul..

no way am I going to sell another guitar.. hahahaha...

I will like put aside money every month to a guitar buying account.. hahahaha

Keep em all dude.. You're kids will love you next time... hahaha

yes stranger21 totally agree... setting the moolah aside every month to finish off getting the pedals i want, doing up my guitars and working my way eventually to a uv777 haha but gotta improve my playing first la... Or Steve will get angry ROFL :D

Yup I totally agree. My first guitar, Ibanez RG370DX, which I sold early this year was something that I actually regretted doing. It may not have a fast neck, but after I sold it away, I felt like I was missing it. I learnt alot of scales , appregios and songs from that guitar and it had become a part of me. Its like having a good friend by your side.

And if everyone have noticed, I am also putting an Ibanez RG2620 for sale in the classifieds. I am actually torn between wanting to sell the guitar and keeping it. Lately I had picked up a few new songs from the guitar, and it always sounds great. I want to sell it to get an Ibanez JEM, but there is a part of me that wants to keep it. Afterall we have gone through alot of battles together and it never for once failed me.

I'll never sell my first. Though I'm guessing it has a warp neck now from the months without strings on.

And it has sentimental value so yeah, never sell my first axe, or any guitar for the record.
