Having problems with improvements

I have been playing the bass for 5 months le, i don't have any improvements lately, been practicing the same songs and realize myself have come to a full stop, i think i have many bad habits and many things i don't know about the bass that will help me improve my skills, please help me, i want to become a good bass player, to be good enough to join a band, i so far only learned how to play a few songs only, and many other half way, please tell me how to improve my skills!!!!

get a teacher quick! before bad habits prevent you from progressing any further.
or at least get a bass guitarist as mentor.

You can post at the find teacher section.

I would recommend that you know the fretboard well and play songs by chords instead of just tabs.

Know the notes in the chords and play basic beat following the drums pattern.

Youtube also got many good examples basic bass lesson.

metronome keeps time better than any drummer or teacher.

do u use a metronome? can u keep in time with very fast and very slow tempos?

it seems like bread and butter but it's actually very hard.
