have you met this kind of buyer before?

haha what a loser man....as in that fella who wanted to bargain...blueprintstudios you are my idol ....

i think we more or less had our fair share of such cases, as Fenderben can attest :D

ah no matter what, in singapore, if you're racist, you can keep it to yourself cos you're not "isolating the other races off you" , "other races (including your own) are isolating YOU from them". it's all in the mind.

but i believe so far the thread covers more on unreliable lowballers, nothing racist, someone said "malay" so mine was "chinese" ,and i'm chinese mind you. i'm just emphasizing on the "balance" that it's not just about races.

all of you deal safe deal smart ya? life is hard, don't make it any harder. cheers

20¢ worth

dont worry im not racist either.I dig chinese girls too.hehehehe

hey there peeps,
since this is a thread about buyers/sellers and all, thought maybe i'd ask all your advice on a transaction which i made.

recently i sold a piece of guitar equipment to a buyer. before selling of course, i tested it all and it was good to go. it was a relatively aging piece of equipment and i did make my point clear that it was old, but was in good condition.

the buyer then agreed and came down to view it. we did not have a means of testing the piece of hardware as i didn't have a guitar already and the buyer didn't bring his. he kept insisting that i didn't have a manual to that equipment (when i clearly took a picture of the full package without manual) and didn't want to buy it, so i told him that it's really his call, cos it's his money afterall and i didn't want to sell him something he didn't really want. so i told him that it'll be better for him to look somewhere else as i had other buyers waiting on the list. after some consideration, he finally took the equipment. after that i told him that i'll try to get him an online manual but no promises still.

3 days into the sale, he msges me and tells me that the equipment is really what he wants and all and that he's really happy with it. so naturally i'm happy that he got what he wanted. i thought that was the end of it.

a week into the sale, he msgs me and tells me this is not working and that is not working and insists that i refund him his money and take back the set.

i need your opinions on this, what do you think i should do as a considerate seller? i've never had my reputation marred by a sale before and i don't intend to make an enemy out of this person, but then again, i've never met a buyer like that before. so please do tell me what i should do. Thanks! :)

Say that you've already spent the money happily considering that he said he's already happy with the equipment. Alternatively you can try to bring someone to test it and if it's working you can slap his face and pee on his front door or something.

haha i'm already very tempted to do that even without gettin' someone to test it. i mean it's like.. i didn't sell it at a cut-throat price, and i certainly didn't rip him off. plus i felt that i was pretty nice about it, even after sales. i still told him that i'll help him scour and ask my friends for the manuals and stuff.

and to be honest, i don't want to waste my time going all the way down to test it and all cos i'm always ot-ing at work. :(

why the hell do such people like to bite back even tho we're nice about stuff?? :(

dirtchamber bro, i think no need to refund lah unless u give personal warranty. but if no then i think u no need to refund or what, or can still be nice abt it and offer maybe half repair or cover alittle bit of the cost for whatever repair. but its a 2nd product and there are risk involve in buying, if on that day 24 hrs he called u n say its not working of cos i believe u have to refund cos cannot be so suay on rite he spoil it on the 1st day. but one week already. then spoil. its hard to say u misused the equipment cos it left your hands. also most guitar products are known to last really long. certain products no lah. but shouldnt be your fault lah i feel.

from what u say, abt lowballing after no manual is simply ridiculous

buy the product or buy the manual??? if a manual can bring up the cost of a product then i think i should start selling user manuals today.

if he turns ugly, tell him : "you got 2 choices, either I be nice enough to give a damn about your problem and I'll suggest places for you to repair the guitar equipment and try to guide you along.. appreciate for what i got to offer. or I don't answer your call, I ignore your smses like a crap seller just as much as you're a crap buyer, it's your pasar and it's your pasal. i'm on your side here."

your conscience is clear, you already tested it working when you decided to put up for sale, he already tested it (for 3 days, and who knows he could be abusing it nonstop for 72 hours on a heavy caffeine shot) then when it burns out he starts pointing fingers at anyone else except himself or the mirror. either that he could have just dunked it in water and tell you it's screwed.

may you eat well sleep well.

thanks marilyn.. haha maybe we should all start selling manuals for a change. maybe ppl will buy!! :P

and ermm.. well, sorry to say, i was actually quite stupid. i almost wanted to warranty him and take it back auntil my friend smacked me across the head for being silly. (only after that then he told me why he hit me.) hahaha

hey blueprint,
yeah i'm kinda getting sick about it already. to a point where i really can't be bothered. well, i still am walking, talking, eating, sleeping, playing and sometimes it does bug me cos it's sorta like a 'black mark' in a way despite the fact that it was the buyer that was at fault but it's all part of buy/sell i guess.
if i had a 72 hr caffeine run, i wouldn't have energy to even lift a finger after that! hahahahaha :P

once again thanks for the advice everyone! :D
